This is our second visit to Jetty Park, following our first visit we noticed this cafe and made a mental note to eat here next time we came.

Our waitress was pretty friendly, but the whole place seemed to dislike rocket launch days in general. They keep one door locked so that customers don't cut through their store, which I understand, but even after asking if it's okay if we come in to eat, no one really seemed to appreciate customers. We were told (grumbly) that the restaurant is small and might not have room for us..

We got over there and half of the tables were empty. So, there's plenty of room. However, it seemed that folks that came in quite a while after us got serviced and food before us, even though our meals looked almost identical. I'm not sure why, but we sat there for a good 35+ minutes before we got our order, and the place was not packed by any means. We watched a couple almost completely eat their meal by the time we got ours, when they sat down about ten minutes after us.

Once we finally got our food I was starving, but the quality of the cheeseburger ($13) left me unable to finish more than half of it. It just wasn't worth the hassle or even price of coming in to eat here.

Even as a customer, you can't use the restrooms (maybe this is just on rocket launch days), I don't know. I'd come in to buy a cold drink and maybe an ice cream bar from the bait and tackle portion of this store and...

Disappointing. We were acknowledged when we arrived and were told to sit anywhere. We sat and waited and waited as the waitress passed us several times saying "I'll be right there". 15 minutes later she took our drink order, we said we were ready to order(we had looked at the online menu from their website while waiting), but she said she didn't want us to wait any longer for drinks. 5 minutes later, the other waitress brought menus and grumbled they had a reduced menu because of "this silly covid thing", 15 minutes after that, we still didn't get our drinks or order taken. We left after 35 minutes of nothing, meanwhile watching the 5 tables who came in after us get served their drinks and food orders taken. We are very understanding of the fact that restaurants are finding their new normal during the pandemic, but this was a very clear case of being ignored and seemingly sacrificed in order to maintain the other tables. By the end of our "experience" both servers were dodging any kind of eye contact and did not once acknowledge...

The service was weird. I called for a takeout order, the person was extremely short with me, like I was inconveniencing them by calling. They set the phone down, to apparently continue some personal conversation with a coworker - very loudly so I could clearly hear both sides while I waited - and then they hung up on me without saying anything else. I called back & was given some excuse, but my order was taken.

The burger was the least flavourful thing I've ever eaten. It was so incredibly bland. The beef looked like it had been microwaved. The fries looked much better, nice golden brown on the outside, but we're equally without flavour. They had also been cooked strangely. They were crispy on the outside, but mushy on the inside.

It was one of the most disappointing meals I've eaten. There was nothing really wrong with it, but there wasn't anything right either. Just disappointingly...

Very simple café (somewhere between snack bar and cozy diner) right at the water's edge (thus the name) between the Freddie Patrick Park public boat ramp and the Jetty Park campground (no access from that side though). As long as your expectations are not too high (it is part of a bait and tackle shop after all), then it is a decent place for breakfast or lunch (and very reasonably priced). Waitstaff is great, but the 1-man kitchen is fairly slow. A few indoor tables and lots of outdoor table and bar seating, all with a great view of the boat ramp and channel. Nice spot to watch the cruise ships lumber out to sea, but there are way better dining options, with equal or better views, just west at The Cove. That being said, this is a very convenient stop before heading out in your boat for the day or for taking a break from your crappy camping recipes!

What an absolute treasure of local spot, Tanya our waitress could not have been more friendly, accommodating and just a true delight. The atmosphere is something we are not used to, being from Canada, by atmosphere I mean location. The location is Jetty Park, adjacent to the cruise ship terminal. I enjoyed the BLT which was excellent, my wife had the Philly Cheese, for anyone who doesn’t like salt, I might pass. It was truly a pleasure to find this local hideaway and big shout out to our new friend Dianne, she had many stories to tell. Dianne we enjoyed your company so much.
