I recently visited Zios Bagel Shop, which had just opened a week ago. As a new business, they still have some areas to improve upon. One aspect that disappointed me was the coffee options. They only had milk and half n half packets from a nearby gas station, and by the end of my visit, they had run out of half n half. The staff seemed unable to address this issue, and it's an area that definitely needs attention.
Ordering was a bit confusing, as I had to be very specific with my instructions. For example, when I ordered the New Jersey, I had to explicitly mention that I wanted it on a bagel or roll. Otherwise, it would have been packed in a to-go box. The order took a long time, and unfortunately, everything was overcooked. However, considering it was only their first week, I understand they are still getting the hang of things.
During busier times, the staff seemed overwhelmed and disorganized. One employee was constantly switching between helping in the kitchen and ringing up customers without washing their hands in between. It would be better if each person had a designated role and stuck to it.
Regrettably, the quality of the food was average at best. My husband found hair in his dish, and the eggs were overfried and unimpressive.
Despite my mixed experience, I am willing to give Zios Bagel Shop another try in a couple of months, hoping they would have ironed out the bumps and improved their overall service and...
Read moreAbsolutely outstanding experience at this charming bagel shop! From the moment I stepped in, the aroma of freshly baked bagels wafting through the air was a delightful welcome. The variety of flavors and options available were truly impressive, catering to all preferences – from classic plain to inventive combinations.
The bagels themselves were a perfect blend of crispy on the outside and wonderfully soft on the inside, just as a great bagel should be. Each bite was a burst of flavor, and I loved how they managed to strike a balance between tradition and innovation. The cream cheese spreads were equally divine, providing the perfect complement to the bagels.
The ambiance of the shop was warm and inviting, with friendly staff who were more than happy to help with recommendations. The attention to detail in the presentation of the bagels was evident – they were not just delicious but also a treat for the eyes. I appreciated the care they took in ensuring every aspect of the experience was top-notch.
Overall, I can't say enough good things about this bagel shop. Whether you're a bagel aficionado or just looking for a delicious breakfast option, this place is an absolute gem. The combination of flavors, quality of ingredients, and friendly atmosphere make it a must-visit. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to try more of their...
Read moreSo far, it’s ok. Kind of weird vibes in there today. The owner, his son, and all the cashiers mostly ignored customers coming in until they placed an order. Which, by the way, is a confusing process. The place is laid out oddly and the signage the business put up to try to help just made it more confusing. Even the sign on the door said “Sorry, We’re Closed” even though they were obviously open.
Menus are placed at the register for some reason, and not before, adding to the confusion.
In the 10mins we were there, the employees had to inform 4 different people (including us) that they ran out of part of their order, which is irritating. It’s fine for now since they’re new, but enough to make me never come back if it continues.
Let’s get to the food. Bagel sandwiches were GREAT! The bagels are fresh and not hard. They are really perfect (but I’m not a native NYer). The sandwiches were not too cheesy and not too large. I didn’t love the sausage they used, but it was good. The bacon was perfect though.
I’ll be back to check it out again. But that’ll be the last time if they can’t figure out these seemingly very...
