I recently moved here from South Bend, IN, and I was looking for a pizza without Provel. I like it, but I still prefer Mozzarella cheese on my pizza. After an internet search for local pizzarias that offered Mozzarella, I landed on Amore Pizza. The reviews were good, and the pictures looked appetizing, so I took a chance. Wow! I was not disappointed! I went with the hand tossed crust, and it was delicious. It was soft and chewy and had a nice flavor. The sauce was sweet and simple - not over-spiced. The toppings were ample and tasted great. Of course, the Mozzarella was perfect!
The staff was courteous and polite. I tried to order delivery online, but the website wasn't cooperating, so I drove there to place my order (it's less than 2 miles from home, and I decided to take this opportunity to find my way around my new home town). After placing my order, I went back to sit in my vehicle while I waited. About 15 minutes later, I happened to look up from my phone just as one of the workers was coming out with a couple of pizzas and some toasted ravioli. Apparently, my order was ready, and without hesitation, he brought it out to me. I have never had anyone do that before. Very cool! Great food, great customer service, and great experience. I can't wait to go back! Thank you,...
Read moreWhat a fabulous overall experience! We were promptly greeted and told to pick a seat. Our waitress immediately came over to take our drink order. The menu offered several items. We ordered a 7" thin crust pizza for our 5 year old with a provel/mozzarella mix. We ordered a chef salad and meat lovers hand tossed pizza for ourselves. I was excited about 2 things: there's an option of 2 crusts when we typically see 1 option and you can choose your cheese between provel, mozzarella, or a mix.
The salad was amazing. We had told them we wanted to split the salad so it ca me out already plated for 2. It was piled with roast beef, ham, cheese, and onions. The pizza was fresh and piping hot! The cheese was creamy and complemented the sauce perfectly. The various meats topped with crisp bacon completed this pizza of perfection.
We will not be completely satisfied until we go back and try other pizzas. They also make fried chicken and sandwiches.
The prices will make you feel like you stole your meal.
You do need to drive into Old Town to find this place, which is almost hidden in and old strip mall. Do not be deterred by the small dining room. It's a hidden gem. Btw, they deliver locally....
Read moreI wasn't going to make a review but the on the way home just wasn't sitting well with me. First let start off by saying the owners daughter is a sweetheart. Now that is out of the way let me begin. I called in to this establishment today to order a pizza and the owner her father answered. I guess me being a new customer didn't matter and the fact that so many small businesses are going under. When he got tired on hearing my order he sat the phone down and told his daughter to take over. I apologized to her for her father's behavior. She responsed by saying he is just like that he doesn't like talking on the phone and gets frustrated customer very easily. With everything going on in the world we should find some compassion because I have been doing my best to go to small business restaurants and place orders. My review of the food is that the pizza taste like cardboard. My husbamd was very upset when I told him about the situation. I am very respectful towards everyone I come in contact with and sometimes that is not recipated. My husband and I are both veterans and served in law enforcement for years. I will constantly pray for him and hope that one day he realizes how rude...
