I want to emphasize that I understand this is a small business, not a large corporation.
Overall, my experience was 70% positive and 30% negative. Upon entering the restaurant, I noticed it was very clean and well-kept. I was greeted promptly by the person at the counter, who offered me a detailed menu and made suggestions since it was my first time visiting. The food came out fast and I was greeted as I left. Great first impression. The restaurant gives a nostalgic feel as well.
Onto the concerns. I feel that the toppings on my sandwich were quite sparse, especially considering it was an $11 (small) sandwich and I had to pay extra for two additional toppings. The most disappointing part was discovering that the sandwiches are automatically toasted, which I dislike. I prefer my cheese cold and my deli meat even colder. I realized this after leaving the restaurant. It may have been due to my lack of attention to the details while reading the menu, but I also wasn’t asked whether I wanted my sandwich toasted or not. I could have gone back to request a correction, but I understand how food waste can impact small businesses, so I chose to take the loss and move on with my day.
I’ve heard nothing but great things about this place, and would recommend trying it out. If you're apart of the very small percentage that don't like toasted sandwiches,...
Read moreYes, I ordered through DoorDash. I got the Reuben sandwich. I got the strawberry feta mandarin salad with the poppyseed dressing and a slice of gooey butter cake. First of all the gooey butter cake was not done at all. It was very runny in the middle and I’ve had gooey butter cake my entire life and never have had something that looks like lemon meringue pudding that was not a delightful experience. The salad on the other hand was amazing. I loved it the poppyseed dressing was very very good 10 out of 10. The sandwich was packaged cute I recommend you not putting the jolly rancher next to the sandwich because bare hands touched the outside of those wrappers and then you put them in with the food which contaminate it now the sauerkraut, was that even sauerkraut because it tasted like coleslaw I like to have SAUERKRAUT on my Reuben sandwich that is sour and plentiful. There was hardly any on there, but I’m kind of glad since it was more like coleslaw and the thousand Island dressing was that even that? Because it was very watery and my suggestion is when you’re sending a sandwich on a delivery that has a sauce on it, put it on the side my bread was wet and soggy. It was not warm at all whatsoever so I gave the entire order a 6...
Read moreThis inside Helfer’s at their old deli counter. Paid $30 for two sandwiches, no drink and no side. Both came with a pickle spear. Had the Italian and the Reuben. The Reuben was thin and sparsely sauced. The Italian was absolutely stacked with meat, but nothing else. I think there was some mayo on it. If I said there’re were ten measly strips of lettuce on it that would be generous. It was a one-note meal and that note was salt. The bread was also so chewy that I had to take a break after the first half so that my jaw would stop cramping. For some reason they also put a wintergreen mint directly on the bread for the Reuben so the entire sandwich tasted of mint. Ruined.
5 stars for service, they were fast and friendly. Food was very expensive though, and the sandwiches were amateur. 2 stars there....
