IHOP — Restaurant in Flower Mound

I used to enjoy going to this iHop because it was always clean, well maintained, not busy, and the service was great. Couldn't ask for much more. But the past 6 months I feel this particular location has taken a turn for the worse, and today the service was just awful.

For starters, it took 20 minutes for our waitress to make an appearance and take our order. Another solid 30 minutes before our food got to the table. Fortunately, the food was pretty good. But then things went downhill from there.

I moved my plate just slightly and an unidentifiable specimen was left behind. It looked like moldy scrambled egg and cheese. It was so disgusting, I wasn't sure that my meal would stay in my belly.

We had another long wait before we got the check to leave, probably about 20 minutes. It could have been less time though, sitting in front of something that is so gross looking has a way of making time just drag. To top it off, I didn't even have water or anything to sip on, I couldn't remember the last time my drink was refilled.

We were walking out of the restaurant and someone had thrown up right outside the front door. That's always a good sign.

Take my recommendation and find another store to go to. I love iHop but this particular location has taken a turn for the worst. From unseen wait staff, to questionable food safety processes, I can say I probably won't...

We went last night and there was 2 other tables being occupied. Our waiter was very forgetful. Never filled our drinks, never gave us a straw, and the food was very very cold. I ordered my son a grilled cheese with fruit, and the grilled cheese was literally not melted. The bread was not toasted. It looked like a cheese sandwhich. I complained and got it back in about 45 seconds. (Assuming they microwaved it) my boyfriends eggs were still raw. The pancakes still had dough in the middle. I have always had a great expirence here, I'm not sure what happened last night. It took about 35 minutes for our food and it was unenjoyable. I thought since the grilled cheese was not edible that maybe he could have some of the fruit. I was wrong. It was super warm grapes, and very soggy. Yuck. I don't think I will be returning. The dining room was also very dirty. Flys everywhere. I hope they can manage to get it together. I love IHOP but this experience was very poor. When we received the check it had a few errors. The kids meal was supposed to be free (he didn't take it off the check) and we were charged for toast...which we didn't order. So upset. I was looking forward to the ushual hot food. We are (going to be used to be) regulars. Today we got here at 9am, waited 15m to be told that they have a lot of to go orders to prepare. And for this reason they can't seat us for another 30m. Looking around in the restaurant, there's only 4 tables with people seated on it. I understand that they have staffing issues, but giving priority to online orders instead of people that are here right now at the restaurant? Unreal! I asked to talk to the manager to try to understand better what's going on and i was told she can't come, that she is cooking as well. And then I was told I was free to leave and find another restaurant... All of this while Uber drivers are arriving and leaving with their to go orders. So sad to leave this review, as this has been our to go place when we want pancakes..... Hope they get better and that management listens to people. From other reviews, this is not an isolated situation. Update: after 30m wait, they said at least another 30 to 45m, that online orders kept coming and they had to give it priority. We decided to leave and i don't think we'll be back. Edit: 6 months later, we're not back yet. edit to share that we've had much better experience at the IHOP...
