We were seated immediately upon arrival, which was promising. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience fell flat. The appetizer crab rangoon's filler looked more like potato salad and offered no taste of crab or cream cheese. Our entrees (3 adults and 1 child) took over an hour to arrive, and when it finally did, nothing tasted fresh or flavorful. I ordered the drunken noodles and basil fried rice—both arrived lukewarm, lacked spice, and were underwhelming. The noodles were drowning in an overly salty brown sauce, and the curry accompanying the salmon and shrimp dish was bland and lacking depth. While management did remove the cost of one dish, the overall experience ruined my appetite. As someone who regularly enjoys Thai cuisine, I found Thai Ruby disappointing and far from authentic. I cannot recommend this place. The pictures are far more appealing than the actual dishes

We went here the other night when we suddenly had to go out for dinner. We reached there 20 mins before they close but they welcomed us in, had us seated and served us nevertheless. We quickly ordered as we were hungry too. The Chicken pad kee maw was good, decent cook on the chicken, refreshing sauce and well cooked noodles. The quantity could have been a little bit more. The Chicken satay was a bit of a disappointment. It was dry and the seasoning could have been better. Although the peanut chutney was really tasty. Overall a good experience for a quick bite. The interior, ambience and atmosphere are truly good. Its a comfortable feeling with enough lighting which isn’t too dim and too bright. The place is maintained clean and the staff is very friendly and service is excellent.

I would rate Thai Ruby 4.5 (but I have to choose either 4 or 5 stars) - it will probably be our 'go-to' Thai Place in the future. The restaurant is very convenient for us, the atmosphere is better than fast food but not too upscale. The service was excellent & the food was very good. We had the Pork Potstickers for an appetizer ($7) and then Spicy Basil Fried Rice with Chicken ($16) and Noodle Soup with Beef Stew ($16). I ordered 'Medium spicy' which is one level spicier than their default - but it wasn't very hot - the additional Thai Chili sauce they gave me fixed it easily. We went for lunch but ordered dinner portions because we love leftovers - the quantities were more than enough for 2 meals for each of us and we were very happy.

Overall quite good. Went for lunch which was very reasonable priced ($8.99) and had the green curry with tofu and the pad kee mao with chicken. Green curry overall was very good - liked the veggies (properly cooked green beans and peppers) and tofu. Sauce was a bit on the sweet side but I still enjoyed it. Pad Kee mao was not quite as good - mostly tasted of dry chili powder - but still might order again if I was in the mood because the noodle texture and chicken was good. I ordered it medium-hot and it wasn't very hot at all. It was lunch time, so we got with it a salad (I liked the spicy peanut dressing a lot) or a rice soup (perfectly good but nothing to write home about) and an egg roll (fairly disappointing but the dipping sauce was delish).

Before we came, we saw a lot of good reviews and pictures, but when we arrived we struggled to find things on the menu that looked really enticing. Part of this is was because we struggled to see the menu - they are using the QR code so you can read it on your phone, but the website didn't work initially, and also the security certificate of the website was expired, which prevented an IPhone from viewing it. I don't mind the Covid-esque menu on your phone but the execution here really let down the experience. Once we finally found the menu it was difficult to read (not optimized for a mobile device) and I think we may have missed large swaths of the menu as a result.

The tables were nicely spaced out and the server and kitchen staff appeared to be wearing masks, which we appreciated.

Overall, I'd probably return and try more things...

Worst Lunch Ever!

DO NOT order the curry for lunch. It is about 2-3 ounces of lukewarm curry on the bottom of a plate. So thin the plate has to be tilted to get the curry into a spoon. All the good stuff that should be in a comforting bowl of curry was resting on top of the thin layer of lukewarm curry. When I mentioned to the staff that I had never had curry served in anything other than a bowl, I was informed “our dinner curry is in a bowl”. No offer to get more curry or even sell me the dinner portion. If the lunch menu had been properly descriptive, I would have ordered the dinner and not the mess I was served. Shame on me for not knowing that this is how the lunch is served! Too much money for a cheap meal and bad portions. We had their version of crab rangoon. Normally a flavorful mix of crab, scallions and cream cheese. These were just overwhelmed by curry powder they put into the cream cheese. It is possible that there was crab and scallions in the rangoon, but the amount of curry powder was too much and completely obscured the delicate crab and scallions. Crab rangoon is not the proper name; it should be called fried wonton stuffed curried cream cheese. Absolutely awful, and I love curry. I read the description on this, and could see that there was curry in it, so this wasn’t a surprise. More a disappointment. I figured it would be a delicate pinch ( which could be interesting) of curry that would still allow the delicate flavors of the crab and scallions to shine in concert with the curry. We...

We have had 2 good experiences in the past but tonight we went in at 6pm with another table that seated right next to us. We were greeted by someone who looked like the owner or manager trying to make conversation. Both of our tables ordered at the same time, at 6:40 we watched as the other table received their food- all 6 meals. Our table had ordered 8 meals- mostly vegetarian. We asked about our food and were told they were still making it. We watched as To go orders were filled and still no food for us. At 7pm our toddler was antsy as we’d been there now for an hour and no food still. The manager was nowhere to be seen. Finally our food came at 7:20 with no apology or explanation and then a bill to follow minutes later with gratuity included. We asked for the manager and were told okay he was there but he never showed up. We now left at 7:30 with our food in to go containers heading home to never enter this place again. We have patience and understand times are hard, but communication and service are big parts of this business. We are so very disappointed as no one even offered an apology or explanation as to what happened.

Why not apologize or explain it when we asked to speak to a manager instead of hide in the back? And why not discount our food since we didn’t receive it all and ended up putting it in boxes ourselves instead of try and charge us gratuity? It just doesn’t make sense not to explain what happened after you had us waiting almost an...
