Restaurant has potential. Decor is beautiful and full of French vintage charm. Other than the owner/manager, the staff leaves you hanging waiting to greet or seat you. A nice hello with a smile and a "we'll be right with you" would be nice. I have had the same awkward entry/welcome both times I've dined indoors. The woman who seemed to be the hostess never once smiled not made us feel welcome. When asked if we had a reservation and we said no, she could have said no worries, or let me check, instead acted disapproving. Took a while to have a menu brought to us. Staff is comes across untrained(if they are being trained, it's needing more work), let's leave it at that. Food: soup and salad. Tomato soup was on the thin side, needed seasoning. Was accompanied by one very(baguette slice) small slice bread. Although when we asked for more bread, they over compensated by bringing out a whole plate of toasted bread several minutes later(maybe serve more bread to begin with). Salad there is always fresh and probably their strong suit.
I've dined inside twice before, as well as outside twice, so a total of 4 times. The experience outside is always nicer. Inside, the manager/owner always smiles and tries hard, but it's almost like he's apologizing and making up for his staffs unpolished experience. When our server brought the bill she never came back to collect it with my CC. I had to walk it to the register. This restaurant needs work to improve it's service experience. Staff could use roleplay exercises. I will return here again and if I have a better experience, I'll change my review.
My biggest beef here is the staff makes you feel unwelcome (no smiles, lack of attention to you and makes one feel unseen and like we are burden). Staff needs to check on patrons shortly after the meal is served at least once to make sure nothing...
Read morePantoufle’s Bistro is an absolute gem, and I cannot recommend it enough! From start to finish, the owners went above and beyond to make my vision for my friend’s bridal shower a reality. Their dedication, hospitality, and attention to detail were unmatched, making the entire experience seamless and truly special.
I wanted a tea party-themed bridal shower, and they embraced my vision wholeheartedly. They curated a delightful selection of finger foods that not only looked beautiful but tasted incredible. From delicate tea sandwiches to perfectly baked pastries, every bite impressed our guests. The menu was thoughtfully crafted, and the quality of ingredients was evident in every dish.
One of the aspects that made the event even more special was the flexibility and generosity of the owners. They allowed us to have the space for the entire afternoon, giving us plenty of time to set up and decorate to our heart’s content. This made all the difference in ensuring the event felt well-planned and stress-free. It’s rare to find a venue that offers such personal care and commitment to making an event as perfect as possible.
Beyond the food and space, it was the warmth and kindness of the owners that truly stood out. They were a joy to work with—attentive, accommodating, and genuinely invested in making the event a success. Their passion for hospitality shines through, and it’s clear that they take great pride in creating memorable experiences for their guests.
If you’re looking for a venue that offers outstanding service, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere, Pantoufle’s Bistro is the perfect choice. I am incredibly grateful for their hard work in bringing my vision to life, and I would not hesitate to host another event with them...
Read morePantoufle is a must for anyone who loves good food. We were two Brits on a tour from New Orleans to New York, arriving in Floyd on a Saturday. After sampling mainly burgers, grits and gumbo for 11 days, we wanted to taste something different. We called in to Pantoufle on a whim and got a warm welcome. The French twist on familiar foods was tempting; we both enjoy visiting France so tried our luck. Happily, we were accommodated in the fully booked restaurant as soon as we arrived. How lucky we were! My wife started with the leek and potato soup, then had the braised short rib ( as close to the french Boeuf Bourgignon as she can remember) with mashed potatoes. I started with bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar; you can tell a lot about a restaurant by the standard of bread and it was obviously home made. I progressed onto a white bean and slow-cooked shoulder of pork dish topped with fennel. It was excellent. The wine was very reasonably priced, compared with all our other nights in the US, and delicious (we went with the recommendation of the owner, Grayson). It was a taste of France in Floyd. Were I to return I would ask Grayson what he would recommend and not even look at the menu, such was my confidence in his knowledge, chef and desire to please. We went on our way with delicious chocolates from his adjacent shop. Just a wonderful,...
