Review for Dodge's Gas Station, S McKenzie, Foley, AL
I had a really disappointing experience at Dodge's Gas Station on S McKenzie recently, and I feel it’s important to share. My boyfriend and I walked over from our hotel to grab some DayQuil and tobacco products before he headed to work. Madison, the cashier, provided absolutely HORRIBLE customer service, which made us feel uncomfortable and borderline disrespected with a hint of racism.
Here’s what happened: Madison asked for my ID, which was confusing because just two days prior, she sold us alcohol, cigarettes, and an e-vape without asking for it. My boyfriend started to show his ID but she insisted on she must see mine. We went back to the hotel to grab my ID, and when I returned, it seemed like she had alerted the other staff about us, possibly making them aware that we was walking back in and to stop talking about the situation.
When we got to the counter, she goes to get the merchandise and proceeded to THROW it onto the counter, demanding my ID again. It felt overly aggressive, especially since she didn’t even check my boyfriend’s ID. She was only focused on harassing me about mine. After I showed her my ID and paid, I asked her to hand me the merchandise in my hand, but she outright refused, saying she didn’t have to put anything in my hand. When I told her that it’s basic customer service to hand products to customers, her response was dismissive. She said " why should I have to put something in your hand"
A black employee then stepped in and handed the products to my boyfriend, saying “this is too much.” I couldn’t tell if she was referring to my request for basic respect or Madison’s lack of respect and customer service skills. Either way, it was frustrating but I still thanked her for putting it in his hand.
I won’t be returning to this store because I know you guys not going to fire her it clear as day she is use to it , and it’s disheartening to hear from another customer as we are leaving out that Madison's behavior has been reported multiple times without any action taken. It leaves a bad taste and makes me question whether Dodge’s supports this kind of borderline racist treatment environment. I truly hope management addresses these issues because no one should feel unwelcome or disrespected, especially in a...
Read moreOkay this place has got to get better. I mostly have good things to say about this place because I always get my coffee here first thing in the morning, and sometimes I come back after work. But today I walk in there is hardly anybody in there just a few customers but the atmosphere was terrible very dirty filthy. The cashier that ring me up for the slushie drink I had which finally Cherry is back in service I love that. You can just tell by looking at her face she did not want to be there. I used to send people home that acted like that towards our customers. Management needs to train their employees in customer service and they need to spend time with them to make sure they get it. After all without the good customers the business goes down. I don't care how high your food is if people ain't happy they'll stop coming. This is a good place a very good place to eat I love it here but the customer service you're going to have to have more smiles when people walk in that door when you get to the cash register. They need to ask questions was everything all right is there anything that we could change something. You don't need a bunch of deadbeats just taking your money after you want to buy something. Standing there with their hands in their pockets when they could be out cleaning the messes that are out there. Come on dodges just get it together. Act like you care about the business. Have a blessed day 🙏 P.S. you get great customer service in there your business could double maybe even triple what it is doing now. I know for a fact great customer service makes a difference. I learned it from one of the best businessmen ever. Sam Walton. Rest in...
Read moreWorked there for 2 months then had an issue with someone who ended my career there. Their loss not mine. The place is a fun place to work when you work with the team players and friendly employees. Crystal is a great team lead and should be running the joint. She always goes beyond what shes asked to do. Kera is also a great lead and knows how to defuse any issue, she also is very helpful. Justin is great guy to work with also and hes quick to help you just like Sasha, Madison, Amber, Heather, Faith, Nicole and Emily. Oh Sheila is also helpful and knows here job in and out. Overall, they are a great awesome crew and fun to be around. I think leadership needs to learn more on how to work on internal issues when problems arise with employees. I also think they need to reevaluate employees that are a negative impact on the whole team. I never had an issue working there like I said it was fun but one bad apple can rot the core of the team. There are many guest that know this employee but dont say anything due to fear of retaliation or being banned from Dodges. I myself understand how they feel. Great food!! Great Friends, and ill still get my chicken and gravy...
