I can’t say enough good things about Smallcakes! We visit Gulf Shores annually to celebrate our wedding anniversary and this year we needed to find someone local to get some slices of wedding cake or even cupcakes to keep up a tradition we have. My husband called a dozen places and no one could help. We walk into Smallcakes an hour before they close and the owner popped them in the oven, flash cooled them for us and sent us on our way. A new cupcake store in Foley but I already heard good words about it. There’s a variety of flavors to choose and all is delicious- fresh and spongy (although some are too sweet for me)! The staff I met recommend Red Velvet and as I remembered correctly, the owner like Carrot ones. They are really nice and friendly. Personally I love Key Lime, Mimosa and Fruit Tartlet (I recommend to try this one, this is my favorite one so far bc of its texture and crunchy base combining with the fresh fruit on top the cream!) These cupcakes can be great gifts for many occasions and this store is highly recommended to visit...

Pretty solid cupcakes at a premium price. A small selection of flavors, but everything seems to be high quality. I like the vanilla cupcake cake especially, it's light and fluffy and not dry at all. The chocolate and cream cheese icings are very rich while vanilla icings are not quite as overly sweet. I also got one of the M&M Cookie sandwiches and was impressed. It's sweeter and more indulgent than a Yo-Yo cookie from Publix, but smaller.
