I will first tell you that I love the store and am glad to see one here. It's not bad but the cashiers are not as friendly as the other ones I have been to. Which is odd because they actually get to sit down.
The reviews here that are negative are mostly about things people don't understand. Like, the quarter for a cart. They can keep their prices down if they don't have to hire someone to go pick your cart up from the lot where you were too lazy to push it back to the store. It's a great idea and you get your quarter back if you return the cart to the place you got it from. If you are lazy, we'll that's just lucky for the next guy who doesn't have to search for a quarter. So you don't actually pay for a cart. Stop being lazy and you will get the quarter back! Charging for shopping bags is not a new thing and the most eco-friendly way of being proactive. The stores in the USA have so far refused to get up to date with what is happening with the planet. You SHOULD already be using reusable bags and not adding to the issues we have with plastic pollution and deforestation.
So what if they use their own brands... Try them out, some things are even better than the name brands we are used to buying. Sometimes uncomfortable change is good change.
But to be clear... Yes they do need to work on the cashier issue, the ones in Pensacola are much more pleasant and seem happy to be sitting down! Something all...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe Aldi store in Foley, AL was clean, well-stocked, uncluttered...a far cry from my regular shopping trips to Walmart, however, the selection of alternatives to various groups of products was somewhat limited, waiting lines developed quickly & time spent getting to the the register wasn't insignificant. I will say that cashiers are extremely fast & efficient & managers stepped in quickly to prevent waiting times from becoming too onerous. As this was my first trip I was a bit unsure when entering the store, as first off I didn't see any buggies then when I asked out-loud some other customer at ck-out said, "do you have a quarter," so I'm thinking smarta** right? But no, they were outside neatly parked in two rows one behind the other as they should be, but what threw me was the fact you need a quarter to unlock a chain which secures each buggy to the next one, then when you finish you return the buggy, lock it back to the last one, then retrieve your quarter...voila! All in all, pleasantly surprised by low prices, lower than Walmart, fresh fruit & produce & ease of navigating the store. Oh, & no plastic bags, you either bring your own or purchase one of theirs, which are a good, inexpensive...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent in tonight 15 minutes before they closed (was only getting a few items so that was plenty of time) the lady at the register came down the isles 6 minutes before they closed and started screaming at everyone telling them they need to go to the check out right now because they were closed. We grabbed the last thing we needed and went to the register. The lady was very very rude and snippy and had an attitude with every customer rudely telling them what to do. This is the second time she has done this. I understand they were closing and she wanted to go home but I have worked many places where if someone even walked in a minute before closing we still had to let them shop. We could explain to them that we were closing in a minute but couldnāt tell them they had to leave. This lady should not be working there if she dosnt like her job. I am sure someone else would appreciate it a little more than her. She was an older lady with curly redish brown hair. Unacceptable...
