Del Mar Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Fontana

I've been coming here for over 14 years since moving to Fontana. This was one of the first restaurants I tried in the area. The food has been decent and so has the service most if the time.

However, I brought my uncle that was visiting from out of state and he liked the food. About 2 days later the rest of my family arrived and I brought another one of my uncles in so he could have some seafood that he was craving.

This time the wrong plate was given to me.. The service was less than acceptable and what really rubbed me wrong was the owner. The man who drives the pick up truck.

He came in and greeted everyone in the restaurant except us. He wouldn't even look at us for some strange reason that I still can't comprehend. It made us feel so awkward and unwanted. It was embarrassing because I vowed for this place and went out of my way to bring in family and friends. It wasn't because we look like we were up to no good or were being jerks because we are not that kind of people. Me and my uncle are both in law enforcement/ military. We both hold ourselves to a higher standard.

As someone who has been coming here for years and a small business owner myself, I promise you I will never set foot in this restaraunt EVER again.

There's plenty of sea food restaurants in the area that will be happy to take my hard earned money. Places that won't get my order wrong and treat me and my family with respect.

I will be sure to let my feiends, family, neighbors and co workers know to avoid this place...

Who goes to a Mexican seafood restaurant and nobody orders seafood? Yep! My family! Hahaha!

My party of 6 was greeted warmly, and we were immediately escorted to a table. The music was loud and that was my only "ding" with regards to our surroundings, but the wait staff was kind enough to lower the level upon request. The complimentary chips and salsa were amazing!! So much so that my dad requested a to go container for the remaining salsa.

Interestingly enough, 4 of us ordered the carne asada burrito 🤷🏽‍♀️ and a steak sandwich with fries and a hamburger with fries. Absolutely NO COMPLAINTS. The burrito was a good size, and the meat was amazingly tender and juicy. Sooooo good! The horchata was 🔥🔥🔥 My only issue was the speed with which my waitress brought requested items. One of my sons was just about done with his meal by the time his condiments were brought to the table. Also, is it weird that when you ask for a refill, the waitress refills the cup you are drinking from? Which brings me back to the speed of requested items... my kids' friend never received his refill 🤦🏾‍♀️ If it wasn't for the fact it was towards the end of service, I would have complained. Loudly.

The restaurant has a bar feel to it. TVs all over, jukebox, and the loud music. This is not a place for a romantic meal nor a place to eat and have a conversation at a regular...

Food we ordered 4 different plates all were not good .Burned hamberger the rice was hard with no flavor the sopez had big pieces of asada so one bite u bite off the meat it was tuff and the fish tacos 1 piece of fish and they fill it up with cabbage and bell peppers and onions the torta had the smallest piece of meat where u just eat the breadbwith avocado and beans tasteless food ...I DONT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE ON TOP OF THAT THEY HAD SO MANY FLIES I KILLED 4 THEY KEPT FLYIN NEAR FOOD AND ON MY SONS HEAD .THE LADY THE OWNER SANTIAGO PUT ON CHARGE DOESNT KNOW ENGLISH AND ISNT HELPFUL RUDE AND ON TOP OF IT ALL THEY DONT HAVE A SIGN ANYWHERE IF U PAY WITH DEBOT CARD THEY CHARGE A PERCENTAGE FOR NOT PAYING CASH WOULD NEVER GO BACK!!!!!! Oh And they charge a percentage if u pay with a cc or debit and there is no signs tellin u until u get the chk ...The owner and person n charge are a mess and dont know how to run a business All the flies that were in there couldnt even enjoy a conversation with others who went DEFINITELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!!!! Another thing we asked could we have a taste of broth of menudo we were told no cause its...
