About last week my gf and I were on our way to go bowling until we where approached by this Asian women trying to promote this restaurant across Bowlero. It was so humbling to see despite her broken English I can see her trying her hardest which I admire the most. I told her we will go after bowling unfortunately they were only open until 9 pm. So we went the next day. The food took long because it’s freshly made it’s not like your ordinary Asian restaurant where the food is already cooked and sitting on a heating tray. I order the Ginger chicken with green onions, Kung Pao Chicken and Veggies Spring rolls. everything was delicious including the Tai Tea Boba, if authenticity was a flavor that’s how I would describe it. Be careful with the home made sriracha. I was warned by one of the cooks in restaurant it was spicy and it was! in a good way though. Overall, the food was flavorful, seasoned, chicken cooked perfectly, veggie rolls were crunchy, vegetables were juicy. On the other hand, the customer service is a 10/10. Each employee we spoke to seemed very genuine, caring and most importantly happy. I did appreciate them advising us to place and order on the phone ahead so we wouldn’t wait so long. Honestly guys I had a wonderful experience. I’m coming again no only for the customer service but the food is fantastic. Shoutout the woman who was passing out the menu in parking lot. I know it can be depressing when people ignore you or shut you down before you can finish your sentence. Just know you were the reason why my gf and I showed up to your restaurant....
Read moreI just moved to the area and was craving some dim sum. So glad I found this place down the street! It's in the same center as the bowling alley, so there's tons of parking.
When I called my order in, I was told 20 minutes but I ended up waiting another 15 after I got there. No biggie, they were busy.
I ordered XLB, shumai, har gow, and a boba Thai tea.
XLB (4 stars) - 10 pieces in an order and they were each on a cute little aluminum tray. Presumably to hold in any soup that may leak out. And even after a bumpy ride home, each little dumpling survived. It wasn't the soupiest XLB, but definitely juicy. Flavor was good. Would order again. I do rate all XLB against Din Tai Fung... so 4 stars is pretty solid.
Shumai (5+ stars) - shumai is one of my favorite dim sum orders... this place was LEGIT. Hefty sized shumai and absolutely delicious. You get 4 pieces in the order, and it's enough to fill me up. Spectacular! Give me 14 of em right now!
Har gow (4 stars) - shrimp ratio wasn't bad. Wrapper was a bit thick but no biggie. We like the carbs.
Boba Thai tea (4.5 stars) - boba was soft and chewy and that Thai tea was your average Thai tea. It's definitely on the sweet side... so you've been warned.
Dim sum in Fontana... this is the...
Read moreMy husband and I were hosting my family at our house on December 26TH for lunch. We were originally thinking of catering Panda Inn but I changed my mind and wanted to find a small family business to cater from. I've had Phu Chen Kitchen bookmarked on Yelp for a while and decided to try them out before placing any catering orders. There's plenty of parking in the plaza and they do have some seating inside if you want to dine in. However, there's no outdoor seating.
The first time we ordered some dim sum items, orange chicken, honey walnut shrimp, and pan fried noodles with beef. We came a second time and tried the sweet and sour chicken and that's ultimately what sold us along with their customer service.
For our family get together, we ordered a tray of sweet and sour chicken, honey walnut shrimp, and pan fried noodles. The earliest we could pick up was 12:30pm and our food was ready on time. They packed up the sauce and walnuts separately to avoid sogginess.
We were totally happy with their service and will be regular customers...
