Sergios Mexican Food was a Glendora staple. They also had a location in LA Verne. I became friends with Roberto (the owner) over the years and was incredibly sad to hear he had to close because of Covid.
So today, I saw on a freinds page that Sergios was reopened in Fontana. I could not believe it was the same restaurant me and my children had spent so many nights. So we drove out right away, and there was Roberto. Grey hair and older, but greeted me with a hug.
The place is large and open. The menu was very similar to the original. I was scared that the food was not going to be what it once was, but we all ordered our favorites, and when they arrived, they were amazing.
The beans and rice are so flavorful. The main dishes were just as great as we remembered, and the homemade corn tortillas were perfect.
Please take my word if you want to have the Best Mexican Food in Fontana...go...
Read moreThis was honestly the worst imitation of Mexican food I’ve ever had. They advertise ribeye steak, but it’s definitely not ribeye—I’m starting to think it’s not even beef.
The place was unbearably hot with no working AC. No one at our table could eat the food. The only reason my husband ordered the steak was because he saw it on another table—only later we realized they left their entire plate untouched, and that’s exactly what we ended up doing too. The presentation may look decent at first, but the taste was disgusting. We asked for medium rare, and what we got was tougher than a rock.
What makes me most upset is that we basically handed this place almost $80 for nothing.
We only went because of the reviews, but most of them are over a year old. I don’t know what happened since then, but this was a total letdown. At this rate, I wouldn’t be surprised if this place shuts down soon....
Read moreSuper salty, inedible burritos. I ordered a carnitas burrito no onions, no cilantro, it's full of it, i didn't ask for both to be wet burritos and both were wet and super salty. The carne asada tastes like they poured all the salt into it. The carnitas are also super salty, the chicken flauta has no flavor. The salsa has no flavor just all heat and unusable. Pretty upset. I spent $40 and I can't even eat it. The chips are ok they have no salt or flavor but a nice crunch. The seating areas are big and nice. But I won't recommend to dine here. What a waste of time and money. I was watching them make the food all I saw was food coming out of plastic bags. Nothing tastes authentic or Mexican from my standards. Owners should be ashamed to put this food out into hard working people's plates. Huge disappointment. Will never be returning again. Nothing is...
