The short version: Great menu, great in-person service, but constant issues with ordering ahead.
The long version: I have gone to this Togo's for 13 years, and have no complaints about the food. The sandwiches are great, the salads are great, and even though I've never tried the soup, that smells pretty great too. I like the attentive service and the employees are always friendly. The only problem - and it's been a big problem - has been when I started using the app to order ahead. At first I thought they might be working at the glitches, but this has gone on for several years now. Out of roughly 20 orders, fewer than half have been satisfactory. At first I had numerous issues with incorrect orders. That has improved over time.
However, the more frustrating factor has been getting my order on time. It's not so bad when they're just finishing something up as I arrive and I get my food a few minutes after the time that I had set on the app. On several occasions, I have arrived and they haven't even started my order. I could tell that they were occupied with a long line, so I tried to be patient and understanding. I tried to help them out on subsequent orders by placing them earlier, so that they might have a bigger window when they get busy. This did not change anything. The most frustrating times are when I arrive and see a worker pull up a long line of freshly printed order receipts and only then start working on them. Mine is usually not the first in line. Sure, they're nice enough to do mine first when they know I'm waiting, and that's one of the reasons I still let them keep three stars. But what made me almost cancel my last order was when it took them over 10 minutes just to acknowledge that I was there. Again, I understand things can get busy. And I don't know that I would have gotten my order sooner in this case. It's just frustrating to try to be the "nice guy" and still face increasing difficulties. They may be understaffed like so many other places, so I'll continue to try to be understanding. Despite all the difficulties, I still enjoy what they have to offer too much to walk away. Spent $61.16 total which included DoorDash and tip, etc… Togos didn’t check the name on the food order with the name the DoorDash driver had and ended up giving to an entirely different driver than the one assigned to my order. I never received my food at all!!DoorDash canceled my order and assisted in helping get a refund that day. No manager was available, so I went to Togos in person and spoke with a shift lead, no manager or owner came out to speak with me face to face. Told by the shift lead that the owner was aware of the situation because there were emails sent to the owner from DoorDash. The young lady took my name and number and told me that I would receive a call from the owner that the refund was done. That was yesterday Monday 4/25/2022, it’s now Tuesday. How long does it take to “log in” as the shift lead told me to perform a refund. Now the $61.16 has posted to my account no refund and no phone call. I was lied to and now I have contacted my bank to make a dispute. Will NEVER order from this Togos again!! Read moreI ordered 4 sandwiches 2 large 2 reg, they ran out of avocado before my last large sandwich (these sandwiches are turkey and avocado and charge significantly higher than a turkey or turkey with cheese, I did not receive my large amount of avocado but was charged full price for it I said I wanted to at least have that one sandwich discounted and was told they didn’t know how to do that. I was offered a bag of chips after I paid and complained, no I don’t want your baked chips I wanted my avocado or not to pay extra for something I didn’t get. Aaliyah was the employee who shorted me on my sandwich and didn’t reduce my price to match what they had to serve.
