I've enjoyed their donuts for years since the original owner but unfortunately they've gone downhill in the past 6 months. I've tried to keep supporting small business but the last 3 times I've been have all been bad experiences. Today after waiting 20 minutes and seeing only 1 customer get their order, I had to leave. I arrived very early to get donuts before my household woke to surprise my family for Valentines Day, but they only had 2 people working and they were trying to make as they go. More people walked in and walked out in 20 minutes than I've ever seen before. Sadly I probably won't waste anymore time coming here as I can get in and out of other donut shops around here in much less time and same delicious products.
Edit after owner response: I arrived at 6:29am today and there were 2 workers, when I decided to walk out at 6:51am there were still only 2 workers. Nobody arrived as the reply from owner states. It was a busy holiday and there shouldn't have been "people on their day off" as stated either, that's poor management. The people leaving while I waited in line weren't turned away by your staff, they came in, saw the line and how slow it was and left. Simply put it is all bad decisions by management to; take phone orders or whatever when short staffed, not having enough staff scheduled, opening a 2nd location when your first location is struggling to give great customer service, and multiple things more I could go on. Every time I've spoken to someone about it, the excuse is always "we were slammed just before you got here" which when it's repeated no matter what time of day I've visited, seems more like an excuse...

We went elsewhere for a while but had to try this place again due to the location and we're pleasantly surprised. Something tells me that the quality isn't quite as good as they previously were (Rockwall location is there, at least closer) but it is back to being my favorite place to go.
OLD REVIEW: The reviews that say the quality has gone down are right. I was told there was a new baker and wow what a difference. Does the original Baker work at the new Rockwall location? When we moved here, we were astonished by the amazing quality of these donuts and they quickly became our favorite donuts pretty much anywhere. We even talked about how we would come back to these donuts even if we moved away. In the last few months the quality has declined considerably and I would now consider these donuts below the average hole in the wall donut place. Glazed is no longer fully glazed, the bread tastes different, the chocolate doesn't even cover the top of a chocolate donut. The bread on its own used to be delicious and now it tastes stale. We will miss the old Hole Thing flavor but after giving the new baker a couple tries it's clear...
Read moreThis donut shop has gone downhill, bad, without brakes! The donuts are expensive and not very good.
The chocolate topping that they use never fully sets up or forms a 'shell' and it gets all over every thing it comes in contact with. Its similar to the consistency of a peanutbutter, but its chocolate in flavor.
While they have fancy donuts like "CrÚme brûlée" and "Sopapilla Cheesecake", they are expensive and not great at all.
When I stop there, if I stop there, the only things I get now are the large cheese/sausage kolaches and plain glazed donuts.
THE WHOLE THING NEEDS TO BE CLEANED!!!
Sure, the floors may get dirty from one day's foot traffic, but more than likely it's because they're not moping every day! The restroom door looks like it hasn't been cleaned since before the outbreak of Covid, and that's disgusting!!!
Stop here only if you must, until they get their business cleaned up and make their donuts...
