Service was friendly & fast: my order arrived maybe a minute or two after sitting down and logging in to the free wifi. I overheard someone else who had a to-go order remark that the order arrived very fast as well. I ordered the curry salmon bowl and while it was tasty, I felt that it was lacking in veggies and sure enough, after looking online for nutrition info, I'm learning that the curry salmon is advertised to come with roasted veggies in addition to shredded kale, which is all the veg I got. The sauce has a hint of spicy heat to it. Overall tasty but very disappointed I did not get what is advertised. I would still come again to try other bowls.
FYI for those who care about waste generated: Disposable cups are available for beverages and brown paper napkins are provided. To-go orders come on a compostable plate with a plastic cover (unsure if it's also compostable or not) and plastic utensils are provided if needed. As always, bring your own if you want to avoid waste!
Edited 8/27 after another visit in July: I mentioned to the manager/owner who worked the register that day that I was emailed in response to my last Google maps review and was told in the email that I would be compensated for the lack of roasted veggies. They said "ok" and then waited for me to order more things, without being transparent about how they would compensate me so I asked if I could get extra veggies for the compensation and they seemed impatient about my not understanding that I was going to be compensated the whole meal, even though they never were explicit about it and said very exaggerated, "you could have all the extra sides if you want". The attitude felt a bit much but then I was comped a chocolate milk cause I forgot to order an extra one with the meal and I had already paid and the manager/owner didn't want to have to ring me up for a small thing, so that was nice.
Unfortunately the roasted veggies I missed last time were way over cooked so some pieces of carrots were inedible and some broccoli burnt and it was room temperature. I think next time I'll just ask for extra kale and skip the veggies.
In addition to the free chocolate milk as a bright spot to this visit was that I ordered one of the kids meals for my 2 kids to share and the salad I asked for to go with the chicken was very large, which is hard to find in a kids meal, so kudos to them for serving a nice portion of veggies with the kids meal. Also, service was very speedy like the last time, even during a lunch rush, so I think I'll still come here as a healthy fast food option...

As you can see below they didn't even try to explain or address the major point of my comment at all. Makes the consumer feel they are not a company who is at all receptive to their customer's feedback.
Again, no reflection on the individual staff and food, but please dignify a kind customer with a response that isn't dismissing the main point.**
Modern Market Fort Collins does a great job with their food and location cleanliness. My only gripe is with a company-wide policy. On my recent order I was charged on top of my food price and taxes: PROPERTY IMPROVEMENT FEE $0.27 TO GO PACKAGING FEE $0.41 I understand these are costs that a business has to cover for their operations but I am so tired of companies sneaking in charges for these items on top of our food/product prices. Modern Market is one of the most expensive places I can choose to eat for lunch and I love the quality of the food so I own that decision. However, corporations need to understand that they just need to incorporate these costs into their base prices. It infuriates customers more to be charged something additional after ordering, than having the awareness of the price up front, and therefore the educated choice to purchase at that price or not. STOP ADDING FEES. JUST CHARGE THE PRICE YOU NEED TO COVER COSTS AND PAY EMPLOYEES...
Read moreThis was one of my favorite lunch places to grab a quick, light lunch while running errands. I don't think I will be back for a while. They took away the half salad option and now just have one size. It is basically the same portions as the half but with more lettuce. So I'm paying 3 dollars more for basically the same thing. I got a salad today and half of it was the unappetizing, unedible white rib part of the romaine. It even had a large piece of the whole base of the lettuce so it makes it look like more salad than it is. I don't know why I can't upload a picture. The chicken also didn't taste fresh either.
Edit: 2 hours after eating here I got sick to my stomach and had to mad dash to the bathroom while in the grocery store. I had an upset stomach all night. I knew that chicken didn't taste right and should have just sent it back. I will not be coming back here, which is a real bummer since the list of restaurants I like in this town is slowly dwindling due to soaring prices and...
