Service was horrible.
Me and a group of friends (6 total of older ladies) went for lunch at 11:30. It wasn't busy (3-4 tables used from what we could see when we came in). Got served by Collin and to say it was some of the worse service we have ever encountered would be an understatement. I will not fault the restaurant or the food. Prices were reasonable. The focus and surprise of this visit was Collin.
He started by taking our orders and seemed a bit confused and struggling to take the orders properly. These were very easier orders (ie: I had a side salad and ice tea.) He never once asked to refill any drink, no water, and one of us ordered a second ice-tea which was never received.
Food came out confusing and missing varies items. When we asked for the items individuals were missing, he said we hadn't ordered the items. Another gentleman came out to help serve the food who I assume as the manager due to his clothing. We explained that we were missing things and that Collin seemed confused. He (manager?) just sort of shook his head and left to take care of what we needed.
The REAL issue happened when we were asked to pay. Not a problem but we were handed a tablet (of sorts) and we had to each take turns trying to pay for our individual tickets (we had separate tickets and these were split correctly). The machine wasn't working and we were having problems with it (Granted, we are a bit older and perhaps it was us as well with new technology - some credit cards needed inserted while others needed swiped) - Collin was virtually no help with this and it was obvious he was getting agitated. I simply wanted to pay cash for my food and he refused saying I would have to wait my turn on the machine (I turned out to be last - yet he refused to take my money). Instead he said once it was my turn, he would take my cash at that time.
During this mess and the machine not working while Collin stood behind one side of our table shaking his head and rolling his eyes at us, one of my friends asked for help to run her card as it wouldn't work. He then grabbed the machine from her hands, turned around to another table and SLAMMED the machine down on it so he could pick up the machine from THAT table. We all collectively sighed "WOW" which obviously wasn't the correct thing as it appeared to only upset Collin more.
At one point during our meal he DID make a semi-apology saying that "he had all these other tables to attend to". Granted, it did get busier as the lunch hour went on. We did see 2 other girl employees - not sure if they were helping or cleaning tables or doing other duties.
We DO understand that restaurants are short staffed at this time. The problem is his rudeness. Him taking the tablet to slam it down onto a table was unacceptable. In addition, we had an auto-gratuity applied of 18%. We were a group of 6 older ladies who had a short lunch with small items. Again, my tea and salad cost $8.00. And I will again say - he said he couldn't give me a ticket until I paid. Which I was happy to had him $10 so I could leave.
To pay the bill took about twenty minutes. Two ladies figured it out on their own. Three needed assistance (which is when this was all occurring) and I just needed to pay cash but apparently had to wait my turn.
While I hate to say I would never return, I will say that if I walked into Chili's or any other restaurant and saw Collin working there, I would turn around...
Read moreMy wife and I went to Chile's on Saturday July 1st, used bathroom before I sat down in booth, filthy dirty and it was obvious nobody had bothered to check its condition for quite awhile. Our server was pathetic, he seemed to be distracted by the 3 girls at table at front of section. We ordered the skillet queso and Chips & salsa, the queso was crusted over and cold. (It came 5 min after salsa, server said it was cooking), we both ordered the 4 piece chicken Strip dinner. I substituted the Mac n cheese and fries for side salad and street corn,,,($1.00 extra for each). The dressing was watered down, cucumbers were squishy ( needed to be thrown out a day or two earlier) the salad itself was wilted and unedidible. The street Corn was so soggy it made a water puddle on the plate, no skewer to hold it and therefore the seasonings were all over my hands,so soggy it took one bite and left it on plate.. Chicken strips were greasy and ice cold, one was as raw in the middle (took picture and sent to health dept) I didn't eat much of my meal, wife's chicken was cold and grease soaked as well, her fries were greasy and soggy, Mac n cheese was cold and looked like glue, she didn't eat much either, server came by and noticed we didn't eat much and asked why. We told him the issues and he snickered and said "bummer " bottom line is Chile's has gone way down hill and menu has been dumbed down from what I remember from 2-3 ,yes ago. We won't be back ever and Chile's has Iost us as patrons. (The location we viisited is located on college Ave in...
Read moreI am submitting this review so that an absolutely terrible lack of customer service (as well as a violation of the state health code) does not go overlooked. It was 6:30pm on a Saturday and given how busy it all was, everything was very good....until the end of my meal.
I was eating the last 1/4 of my Buffalo Chicken and Ranch sandwich when I noticed the texture was very odd. I thought maybe I just bit into fat or a tendon so I swallowed my unpleasant mouthful and attempted another bite. Same thing....a very weird rubbery texture (no bad flavor, but something definitely off). I showed my husband the remainder of the sandwich and he instantly goes "THAT IS DEFINITELY UNDERCOOKED." The waitress (Melissa) was very apologetic and went to try and get some "Be Our Guest Cash" from the manager. She came back a little later and said they were all out of Be Our Guest Cash, but if we came back next week "she would remember us and take care of us." She was very nice given the circumstances, but we never saw the manager. Are you kidding me?! You just served something that could make me incredibly sick and the manager doesn't even come out to apologize! That is completely unacceptable and I will take legal action if I end up with food poisoning or salmonella. I have worked both retail and food service so I know that things can be hectic and customers can be a pain, but in this case you better provide some sort of...
