Fiona's is the best sandwich shop and bakery in Fort Collins! I live in Denver Metro, but do business often in Fort Collins and I stop there on my way out of town every time.
They have an extensive menu with a large variety of delicious and unique sandwiches. My husband's favorite is the #5 Joanne's private club. I go back and forth between 4 different sandwiches (#16, #42, #35, & #75). They are all very different, but very good in their own right. Don't skip over the sides and salads! I really enjoy the Mediterranean salad with gyro meat added. The side salads they offer by the register are definitely worth a grab and if they have cut up slices of quiche - snag yourself one for breakfast the next day. They also usually have a few soups available, and finally the mac and cheese is a delicious secret. Definitely add a side of it to your order, but be ready to eat - these sandwiches are big! They cater too.
Don't forget about the bakery!! Their cakes and specialty cookies are great for special occasions. The rest are wonderful treats that I always have a hard time only getting 2 or 3. If they have cheese cake - get some. Their muffins and coffee cakes are so good and usually have actual chunks of fruit in them. The variety of bars they offer are yummy too. I like the lemon bars, toffee bars, and raspberry almond bars most. There are so many treats don't hesitate to explore and grab your favorite!
The last thing I have to mention is the staff. They are always friendly and very accomodating!! I can't recommend stopping into Fiona's Deli enough!...
Read moreI've been going to Fiona's for years, and after moving away from Fort Collins, I finally got a chance to return while visiting, this time bringing my husband and friends along with me. Having already explored most of the menu myself, I was interested to see what my group thought, as (much to my surprise) none of them had ever been to Fiona's before. The general consensus: This is now a staple spot to eat when I visit.
The portion sizes are incredible. Back when I lived closer, I'd get two sandwiches, a cup of their mac salad, and an extra portion of their sweet potatoes. That would last me all work-week as my lunches, and for the portions, it's comfortably affordable.
The bread is, very obviously, made in-house. All of their baked goods are crazy delicious, and you can taste the quality of the ingredients, but the bread was the delicious conversation holder amongst my group today.
Their sandwich menu is a slightly intimidating 75 items, but the ingredients are simple, and the way they organize it makes it easy to find exactly what you enjoy. My favorites are the Reuben and the Western BLT. I wholly believe that there is a sandwich at Fiona's for everyone, and they're more than happy to accommodate customizations so that you find yourself wanting to leave a 5 star review as well.
I could write an entire magazine article gushing about this place, but I'll leave it with this: If you want a high quality, simple, filling meal, made and served by some of the kindest staff imaginable, Fiona's is a...
Read moreMy wife and I got take-out sandwiches from Fiona's about a month ago. This "little" deli is tucked away in a spot next to Ace Hardware, with a communicating archway making it easy to wander in. I got my usual Reuben (Tara's Reuben$9.99 - Roast turkey, Swiss cheese, coleslaw and lots of Russian dressing on grilled pumpernickel) and my wife got her usual Caesar Salad. The sandwiches did not disappoint at all! Mine was so large that I ate half and saved the second half for later. The flavor was mouth-watering, with pickles and coleslaw on the side. Their philosophy: "Sandwich Philosophy . . . everything tastes better in sandwich form. Meat, Cheese, Veggies, Especially Bacon! Nearly everything edible takes on new personality when laid between two slices of bread. Portability & Palatability, It’s the casual route to a great meal." The many and varied selections were mind boggling for what is seemingly such a small place. Don't be fooled though; it must be bigger on the inside, 'cause with a menu that runs from gyros to Truffled Egg Salad, they must have a walk-in cooler the size of Manhattan. They also have a few tables on the sidewalk outside their store, in case you'd like to eat right by the passing cars. On the whole, I'd go back in a heartbeat, for takeout. The lost a star from me because of a total lack of ambience, but, on the whole, they have what they wanted, without the overhead and headache of everything that goes with a "fancier, sit-down...
