Big C's Downtown Pizzeria — Restaurant in Fort Lauderdale

Purchased a salad here to have for dinner, drove 30 minutes and put the salad in the refrigerator as soon as I got home. When I finally took it out to eat for dinner about 4 hours later, I noticed an odd smell in the salad which I determined was coming from the cheese.

Since cheese is already aged by nature, I didn’t think much of it. I went ahead and began to eat the salad, but within seconds spit it out because it tasted weird and just “off”.

Now of course, with any dairy product, it needs to be refrigerated, but there is no way this salad/cheese could have gone bad in the 30 minutes that I drove home plus the additional 4 hours IN THE REFRIGERATOR.

I called the restaurant to explain that the cheese smelled/tasted bad and they refused to offer any credit or refund because of the time lapse between when I purchased it and when I called in. They accused me of leaving the salad out, despite me explaining that I was saving it for dinner in the fridge.

I’ve gone here several times before and have ordered the exact same salad before and never had an issue or complaint. They could have handled the situation way better, but instead they chose to point the finger. They’d rather lose a customer than refund a $12 salad.

Is this the best pizza place in Broward nah is it the worst nah but it'll do in a pinch and the lady there I forgot her name she's from New England is very sweet and talks in that typical Boston accent reminds me of home me of home LOL. Although I don't think I've ever talked with that Yankee accent or do I ever want to. Anyway this is a small place what's annoying is you have to pay to park next to this so you may want to keep driving till a place where you don't have to pay it makes no sense that they're charging people but it's probably because it's close to the courthouse or the hospital or some other money making scheme nearby most of Broward if you stay away from the beach parking is free take advantage of that. Like I said the food is adequate it's not the best I prefer Paisans down the road or up the road depending on how you look at it I always go there but a friend of mine was with me and he was going to the Bob's new stand nearby next door I should say. Anyway if you just got out of the hospital go to downtown pizza why not. What a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE Experience! I have never received such terrible food & service. I had the food delivered to my hotel & it was disgusting, the meat was not thoroughly cooked & there was hardly ay sauce on my spaghetti. When I called to give them a chance to re-deliver me something else, the manager who says his name was John LITERALLY went ballistic. He said that it had been 2 hrs since the order was placed. I tried to explain that I had to leave & was not able to eat it immediately to only find out how disgusting it was, when he started hollering at me like a lunatic. He then proceeded to HANG UP in my face. When I called back, and asked for the GM, whom he said is "Chris Capacos" he then continued to further insult me by saying that I was trying to use a bad credit card because I couldn't find it when they came but I immediately called to give them another one when I noticed I did not have it!
