I wish I could like this place but then I'd be lying. I've been to many sushi places; from Miami, to Vegas up until to Japan but this really put my experience to the test and left me disappointed.
We opted for the Premium AYCE since it was our first time here. The appetizers weren't impressive; we had the Gunza Roll which was pretty decent and had the Ebi Tempura which shouldn't be hard to mess up; but yet all I can taste is the breading.
We ordered for the chef's choice sashimi; they delivered it with a nice decoration but the sashimi was mid; I think it's standard and shouldn't be hard to mess up since it's just fresh raw seafood. What we noticed in the menu is mostly salmon with cream cheese, salmon, shrimp and tuna. Some places would at least even have scallops or eel but barely even have any dishes for that considering they carry a-la cart menus too.
We've tried a couple of their sushi rolls and I don't know what the other reviews claiming it to be "creative". We had one "chef's choice sushi roll" which we expected it to be good but it literally was a Philidelphia roll just topped with arugula. Then we also had this salmon skin roll but when they delivered it, it really looked and tasted like a canned salmon. There wasn't even any salmon skin.... Literally just a "grilled salmon". The other rolls were just not meeting the standard especially for the price tag they put in. Usually I finish my handrolls but even so, that wasn't fulfilling my cravings on sushi.
Least the say; the few items I really like were the torced salmon nigiri drizzled with truffle oil and dash of sea salt and the chef's sashimi. But the rest; left me not wanting for more and wished I could've gone to a different restaurant tonight.
Lastly, the desserts were okay too, I like the churros with the dulce and the banana roll with nutella can't be hard to mess up when everything taste good with nutella so that's not really anything special.
Overall, I wish they could expand their menu probably with more variety of seafood and possibly make their sushi roll a bit better. I'm sorry for this bad review but I really tried to like the place considering how posh the ambiance is but it doesn't justify the quality of food with the hefty price tag they have put just for salmon, tuna, cream cheese and shrimp.
This is definitely one of those cat-fishes restaurants; so proceed with caution whoever is curious to try this...
Read moreA Disappointing Experience at Kingdom Sushi While I rarely leave negative reviews, my recent visit to Kingdom Sushi was so profoundly disappointing that I felt compelled to share my experience. I was drawn in by the beautiful online pictures and the nearly perfect 4.9-star rating, but the reality of the visit unfortunately fell drastically short of what was promised. First and foremost, I want to emphasize that the service was truly excellent. The staff and servers were all exceptionally nice, polite, and attentive, and we have absolutely no concerns or complaints regarding their professionalism or effort. However, the quality of the food was, regrettably, shocking. The salmon had a concerning, off-putting texture and a flavor profile that suggested it was far from fresh. The experience of eating it was genuinely unpleasant. Similarly, the tuna left a profoundly bitter and nauseating aftertaste that made the dish nearly inedible. Furthermore, the sushi rolls were bafflingly prepared; for example, the Philly roll consisted almost entirely of rice and imitation crab, with a noticeable absence of actual fish. We were very surprised by the lack of filling, which was visually obvious even before tasting (as shown in the attached pictures). Beyond the food, the overall cleanliness left much to be desired. Finding what appeared to be spit on the floor underneath our table was unsettling and unfortunately only compounded the feeling that the establishment was not being maintained to an appropriate standard. Finally, a quick note on the pricing: we found the cost of simple items to be unusually high. For instance, a single can of Coke was priced at over $6, which seems excessive for a casual dining spot. Ultimately, based on the extremely poor quality of the core product—the fish and sushi—I must conclude that the high reviews and beautiful photos online are deeply misleading. This was an absurd dining experience, and I sincerely hope the management takes this constructive feedback to address both the quality of the food and the restaurant's...
Read moreMy family and I (party of 5) were celebrating our last day in Fort Lauderdale this evening and decided to treat ourselves to a nice sushi dinner. We looked up all you can eat sushi restaurants in our area and this one was by far the most highly rated. However despite these ratings, we could not have been more disappointed with the food. The appetizers were less than ordinary, the fried rice and yakisoba noodles were the saving grace of the meal, but the sushis were unacceptable. I asked our waiter, Danilo, if we could get a specific roll without cream cheese, he kindly informed me that it wouldn’t be possible seeing as though all the rolls are prepared in advance so no changes can be made. Mind you, there were only 2 other tables with guests and the rest of the restaurant was empty. For the 40$ per person for the basic all you can eat menu (not even the premium) I would expect fresh rolls made to order, and not some rolls that have been sitting out for who knows how long. Not even the tempura shrimp roll was fresh, the breading was completely soggy. All in all, the service, ambiance and cleanliness were great but the food was clearly an afterthought and not worth it at all. We’re all super disappointed with this place. You guys really need to step back and re-evaluate your menu, food taste and quality because it’s...
