Can’t wait for my next visit!...
Read moreI decided over Indian food to take my dad to the Tap 42 location on Andrews Avenue for Father’s Day, thinking it would be a great idea after having an amazing experience at the Naples location just two weeks prior—where I was treated like I was dining at a five-star Michelin restaurant and the food was outstanding. Unfortunately, this experience was the complete opposite. Upon arrival, my brother and I ordered lemonades that were served with absolutely no ice—not less ice, no ice at all. Even frat parties manage to serve drinks with ice, so this was a surprising miss. We asked for ice and were given cups of it on the side, which already set the tone for what became a string of service disappointments. Our appetizer arrived in a timely manner, but we were given no plates to eat it on—another basic oversight. I had to flag down a server just to ask for them. 1) No ice, 2) No plates… I’m starting to think to myself, who runs this place? And also three strikes you’re out right? This place must just have bad service. Because the Tap 42 location I visited in Naples had 10 times better service than this Andrew’s avenue location. I had to flag a server over to ask for plates to eat my $17 appetizer since no one thought to do that. My family and I all ordered burgers which came out cold. Happy Father’s Day! For a $200 meal, we were met with two warm lemonade, no plates, cold food, and a disappointing memory of what should have been a special day. This location is a far cry from the high standards set in Naples, and I genuinely expected more from a restaurant...
Read moreMy first visit to Tab 42 wasn't the best do to my burger being served with a dry bun and. I love burgers and I take the time to drive to different places to try the ones recommended to me. A coworker had recommended this place and I was not pleased with the burger. I was invited back and since I figured that it must have been bad luck, I decided to give them a second shot and I'm glad I did.
The staff was helpful and attentive as always. The joint has a casual inviting feel with both inside and outside seating available. I personally like the inside with it's dim lighting and full bar. But as I am not much of a drinker, I come for the food.
The Burger this time around was excellent. I got the Prohibition burger, medium and without mustard. It came out juicy with a nice smokey taste that I love on burgers. It was lightly seasoned but it was just right that I could appreciate the smokiness of the burger. It came with white cheddar, applewood bacon, LTO, the house sauce and I added a little bit of ketchup with a side of fries. My friend ordered the same thing but with sweet potato fries, which they serve with marshmallow sauce and makes them taste like a dessert. My fries were super crispy and went great with their house sauce and the sweet potato fries were delicious as well.
Upon my second visit I would easily recommend this place. The service and atmosphere is nice and the food taste great. I'm planning on coming back and next time I want to try their dessert. I saw it being brought to another table and I must try it on...
