I like Japanese ramen, but my friends are much more into it, so I find myself having ramen often. I really like the atmosphere at this place. The staff here are really awesome, very friendly and helpful. Often the music would be so loud at other restaurants you need to be nose to nose yelling at those at your table to have conversation. But not here, my friends can comfortably talk me into deciding what I am in the mood for; no yelling and no hearing our neighbors business. The menu here is pretty standard, however I really like how the menu items are not identical to the menu at the Fort Lee location. It’s familiar but still unique. My ramen enthusiast friends and myself all agree on 2 things about the food here: 1-it is very good and totally worth it and 2- the ramen broth is just a tad too salty If the broth wasn’t as salty I would probably find myself eating here every day. I don’t think I’m alone either. Every time I come here (I live nearby, so it’s often) I see people I know who seem to eat here more than me. This place seems very popular despite my humble and non-expert opinion on the broth (it doesn’t...
Read moreThe restaurant has a nice atmosphere. With Covid-19 still going, the restaurant is currently having limited seating. I had order a Tonkotsu ramen with a side of Gyozas. The taste of the soup was rich and favorful. The noodles were cooked medium done so there was a bit of chew to it.
The bad parts were that the accompanying additions to the ramen was a disappointment. The bowl of noodles had too much beansprouts and not enough spring onions. Everytime I went to get more noodles, my chopsticks would pull up 50% noodle and 50% beansprouts. The egg's yolk was solid, cooked too far. There was no bamboo shoots, woodear or a piece of nori seaweed. The gyozas are good but nothing that blew me away. The problem was the bowl that the gyozas came in. The bowl had both the gyozas and the soy sauce in the same plate separated by a small wall that once you try to dip your gyozas into the sauce, would over flow and start to drench your crispy gyozas, making them soggy if you don't eat them right away.
Overall a good experience and I would come...
Read moreI had stumbled across this restaurant while on a delivery for Uber Eats (I am a driver), and while I was transporting the food to the customer’s house I remember being spoken to by the amazing aroma from within the bag. Once I had dropped off the customers order safely I found myself curious and suddenly craving some ramen. I have never had ramen before aside from the “Cup of noodles” iteration we’ve all bought from the dollar store for a quick meal. But this was no dollar store ramen as I had soon learned.
From the delicious aromatic tender pork belly, to the rich and delicious broth it bathed in, every ingredient came together perfectly in my bowl and brought the biggest smile to my face. The flavor is mind blowing, and the prices are more than fair.
If I could rate them any higher than 5 stars believe that I would. Anything you will order from Menya Sandaime will surely not disappoint you or your...
