Finally, a legit Sichuan hot pot spot on this side of the Hudson. Not the best spicy broth I’ve had, but still very good (and certainly the best I’ve had in NJ). On the other hand, the herbal pork bone broth was exceptionally thick compared to other hot pot restaurants. Quality of the meats and veggies generally were all acceptable to pretty good. Some ingredient notes - pork blood was solid, better than most places; crispy deep fried pork was okay, kind of on the dry side; lamb and short rib slices were good; luncheon meat was okay, not as good as Spam brand; deep fried Chinese donut was okay, not as crispy and airy as I like. Egg fried rice was pretty good. There is a compulsory $2.99 charge per person for the usual sauce station, but it also comes with complimentary fruit and snacks, including bing fen (“ice jelly” dessert) and sesame balls. At the end of the meal, they offer a complimentary small ice cream, very welcome especially after a spicy meal. Service was excellent with frequent refills of water and broth; and skimming the broth. They do parking validation for the Hudson Lights parking garage, whose elevator bank is conveniently next door. Spent around $55 per person after tip and tax, which is in line with my expectations for this kind of restaurant. Apparently on Saturdays only, a talented employee performs face-changing (a part of Sichuan opera), which was a delight to watch. Reservations may be made by phone, but not on...
Read moreThe service is very bad. We entered and there is no one. We waited like 10 mins, and a guy from kitchen came out saying to us all the waiters are on a break and he let us sit. After another 10 mins, a waiter came and literally says no words to us. He just brings two cups of water and tried to turn on the iPad for ordering. I told him the battery is dead. He just walked away (still no talking) and came back dropping another iPad on our table. We came here for dinner, and as a waiter I don’t understand why he gives attitude to customers. We don’t feel like eating here and just walk away. Not to mention this is not our first time coming to this place, only to find bugs and hair the first two times and we still decided to give this place another try, since this is the only hot pot place in Fort Lee. But after experiencing all of these, we...
