I decided to try this place last night since I normally go to another local Japanese Steakhouse and I was very pleased with the food and service. Service Review: The hostess was very nice and attempted to seat us right away. We were taken to a hibachi table where there was only 3 seats left (the number of my party) and they were attempting to squeeze us between two other families. The woman already at the table automatically got up, with her plate, and stated that if we were going to sit down, she was going to move. I opted to go back to the hostess table and request another table so their dinner wasn't interrupted. The hostess stated that they were at 100% seating and they would have to ask management if we could be sat elsewhere. Granted there was another table with seating that wouldn't have left everyone elbow to elbow to begin with, that we were directed to the second time. Other than that, the experience was great. Food Review: The chef and food was great to say the least with plenty of food to go around and take home. I ordered the chicken and steak and both were very delicious. The fried rice was flavorful and they do not charge an upcharge for that like the other local Japanese Steakhouse and for what we paid, it was well worth it. $70.00 for 3 people versus $70.00 for two people at the other steakhouse plus there is enough to take home. Overall the food and table experience was 5 Stars but the experience in the beginning is why Im giving it 4 stars. I understand its everyone's decision to opt to go out to eat and restaurants have done so much to give us that experience while at the same time trying to social distance everyone, so I found it very disheartening last night when they were not doing this and it made another guest so uncomfortable, she considered leaving.

Went on a date night with the wife - and happy we did. The entire experience was amazing at an affordable price! We did the hibachi entree's and our cook (I believe his name was Jerry) was awesome! He had a lot of jokes, was funny, and obviously skilled with his utensils. The portions were huge and well worth the money and the food was cooked and all was fresh. The manager seemed very attentive as well, noticing we were finished and offered us to go boxes. The place was super clean and you can tell the workers love what they do. Couldnt ask for anything more :) ****UPDATE****. 1 Month Later I would have given Kumo's 5 stars after my first experience with them. Me and my wife went on a date, having hibachi and it was wonderful. Our chef was enthusiastic, entertaining, and experienced - the food was spot on. We were so excited about the food we brought my mother on her bday and had a complete reverse experience. The chef seemingly had no idea what he was doing - didnt perform any moves, he just wanted to make random conversation, which i don't generally mind. But you pay extra for entertainment- there wasnt a beating heart, no onion volcano, no egg flips. In addition, veggies were overcooked and mushy, and rice had no flavour. I guess it depends on who you get, but I dont want to play a hit-or-miss game whenever I go out to eat since food prices are high.

First time at Kumo after hearing pleasant reviews. For a Sunday evening, it was pretty busy. We would normally sit down at a hibachi table with the kids, but it was just us parents this evening, so no onion volcanoes tonight. We ordered the beef Nagamaki, beef gyoza for apps. The nagimaki which is a personal favorite, had no taste at all. It actually tasted as if it was pre-made, frozen and reheated to serve. Not very good. The gyoza was okay. Also, not busting with any flavor. The meal came with a miso soup and customary salad with peanut dressing. Both were good. My wife ordered the chicken teriyaki, zero taste. Like nothing. She started adding salt and more teriyaki sauce to save it. So bland, it was pathetic. The only thing that was good, was my fire starter specialty roll. I crushed that dish quickly. My wife ordered the muffin roll. Had a little too much cream cheese in it for her, I thought it was ok. Not sure if I'd return, I'm willing to try it again one day for the hibachi....maybe.

DO NOT EAT HERE THEY HAVE LIVE ROACHES CRAWLING AROUND THE RESTAURANT!!!!!!!!

We walked in and were told we had to wait 2-3 minutes for a table to get cleaned off, 15 minutes later we were finally seated at our table. It then takes another 15-20 minutes for someone to even come over and greet us/get our drink order. Drinks come and we order our food and then we wait. Appetizers and sushi come out and we eat, another 20-25 minutes and then another family is seated with us. We ask the waitress when our food will be cooked and she says we now have to wait for all of these people to order their food, which takes another 10 minutes. We have now been waiting for ALMOST AN HOUR when the hibachi chef finally comes and makes our food. He does his whole show and we start to eat, then one of the people in our party looks over and sees A LIVE COCKROACH CRAWLING ON OUR TABLE. I, being someone who works at a restaurant, walks over to the closest employee and informs them what happened. Two women come over to our table and act like they don’t see the roach crawling around, saying “Oh where is it?? Huh??” We point it out to her AND SHE KILLS IT WITH HER BARE HAND. She didn’t wipe the table or even clean her hands, she just wiped it off on her pants. The server then comes over and offers us boxes for our food and tells us she’s going to go get the check, ARE YOU JOKING????? We tell her we want the food removed and a manager to come to speak to us ASAP because there is no way I am going to pay for this. Another 10 minutes passes and no one has come to the table so the other party and us are growing impatient. We get up to find someone to speak to and one of the employees comes to us and tells us “Here are your checks, we have discounted them 50%.” I thought she was joking, so I tell her again that I need manager to come and speak to us and she asks us to sit and someone will come. A man in a gray t-shirt (who we later found out was the owner) comes over and stares at us, then walks away. We sit for another 5-10 minutes with no one coming over to the table. We get up again and ask the employee if someone is going to speak to us, she points out the owner to me so I say “Hello?? What are you going to do about this sir??” He stares at me and says nothing and then the original employee say “You guys can just leave.”

This was awful handling on the restaurants part and I am shocked they have not lost more customers over that. The people at the table across from us who had just been seated were so grossed out from overhearing us that left also. We will be contacting the health...

Just experienced the worst service since working in the industry for 13 years. We made a reservation for my niece’s fifth birthday and mine at 6:30. We showed up on time and was sat to then wait for 45 minutes just to have someone ask us our drink order! We then had to wait another 15 minutes for our drinks to then not have the correct drinks arrive to us. Then all of a sudden we get our last final drink that is correct to then find out our appetizer come out incorrect. We then sent them back to then wait another 20 minutes with no attention from our server or manager to apologize for any inconvenience. Also, at this exact same time three large tables were sat that were immediately served drinks and orders! When we approached the manager to explain the situation, he didn’t even care. I am sorry coming from a table who had served in bigger industries than this for 9 plus years to receive literally the worst service I HAVE EVER RECEIVED...IS INSULTING! Whoever the manager was I spoke with needs to be taught many classes in order to achieve even the mediocre sense of proper service. We then received our bills with then again no apology with everything listed on our bills we ordered...I wouldn’t have an issue with this if I would have just received a simple an apology but we did not. So with terrible service...no apology...my upset crying niece due to being hungry and not receiving even remotely decent service...I will never return to such a terrible place called a restaurant...
