My family and I have been eating the B B Q Shack's food for several years. It is located on Lafayette Road in Fort Oglethorpe on the right going south, a block or two before you enter the Chickamauga Chattanooga National Military Park. The restaurant is a small family owned and operated business with very affordable prices and great high quality BBQ. There is a picnic table beside the parking lot but the operation is primarily a walk up or drive thru business. My wife and I love their B B Q, side dishes of fried okra, coleslaw, potato salad, and baked beans. My kids like the large order of fries to go with their BBQ and hamburgers. We all like their fudge brownies. I appreciate that they do not mind making substitutions on the menu to accommodate my food allergies. They have a very affordable family pack special that will feed four people. For a great family outing, grab it and picnic in the near by military park before visiting the...
Read moreThis place is crazy cheap for how good it is, its a quaint little bbq place that serves up solid home style food. I dont know where to start on the food honestly, the brownies are a classic for me! they are cheap, big and tasty. the pulled pork has great flavor! the CORN NUGGETS omg are so crazy good. the people are always so nice and friendly and i know they gotta be hot in that little shack. ive been here 10 or so times and every time it feels like im going to grandpas house to get something off the grill!
also the proportions are good and the seasoning and sauces they use are super tasty as well. highly recommend if you want something quick and super good on a budget, they even have a drive through!
i hope places like this never go out of style, i love how old fashioned it is, you can see the smoke from the road. No dine in waitress, no upscale fancy bar, no fake attitudes...
Just some GREAT...
Read moreThis was my first time, and I got the BBQ Pork Plate w/ baked beans & okra. Most importantly, everything was hot, fresh, and tasty. The BBQ comes with sauce on top and it was tasty but not overpowering. I'd say the amount of food was about average. Also their smoker is on-site which is a good sign. I'll definitely be returning since good BBQ is hard to find.
Some things to keep in mind: They charge a 4% fee unless paying with cash. Also their drive-through window is awkwardly like 7ft high so if you have a small car you'll probably want to go to the walk-up window. And finally, plan on about a 5-8 minute wait per car in the drive-through since it seems like they make the...
