I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with a salad. There is a small salad bar in this restaurant. I had assumed that a side salad would be getting one salad at the salad bar as most corporate restaurants do. Apparently that was my mistake. I was charged a full salad bar price for one plate of salad. When I explained my confusion by the price at the register, I was told there was nothing she could do because she didn’t know in the place. I expressed that I was disappointed, that I was being charge nine dollars for a single plate of salad. I could tell she was frustrated at me, and thought that I was being unreasonable by suggesting a plate of salad was not worth nine dollars. Instead of arguing any further, I just told her she just lost business. By her body language, and her attitude, she was more or less saying I don’t care. So much for a small town business doing the right thing by the customer. Let me be clear, my server was polite and good. This interaction took place at the register, where you pay with your own ticket. That is when I realized there was a charge for the salad bar.
In response to the, I guess the owner’s reply: My voice was never raised. I was not rude. I was matter of fact. There were no abusive words or insinuations. To state a bold lie to defend the actions of a rude employee says a lot. Not once did she call for a manager or witness to my behavior…… because there was no behavior unbecoming of anyone in my situation. I guess your $9 salad was worth losing a repeat customer that would spend much more. I was never rude to my server or anyone. A good manager would have asked the server how much I ate. They probably would have compromised, even split the cost, in order to work with the customer. I don’t say this out of ignorance, I say this out of experience of being a manager in the past that has on multiple occasions tried to accommodate and meet the customer halfway to ensure repeat business. I didn’t ask for free food….. I just asked to be charged what I ate. And the blatant falsehood that I was somehow the cause of your employee’s behavior is quite disgusting. Not even a hint of professionalism to reach out to find out the truth, or at least both sides says all I need to know. I hope people see this. I know I’m not one of your older regulars, but you and your employee’s attitude will be the downfall of this restaurant as some of those customers...
Read moreCame in to Park Place with my son & husband around 2:15PM. Sat ourselves as stated on sign. 5 mins go by and a waitress brings us a few menus and says someone would be with us in just a min. We waited 7-10 min and no one had said another word to us. I should have listened to my intuition and just left then. Then, another server introduces us to a lady with black hair, petite, mid-late 30’s. She apologized and said she didn’t even see us (she looked right at us twice but could have meant she didn’t realize we were new customers, idk) She took both our drink & food order. It was another 5-7 min before we got our drinks. In the mean time, the table next to us had been sat twice. The first set of people left because they never were greeted at all, the Second Lady who was by herself looked irritated as well for same reason. We had 2 salads in a timely manner, however, my son wanted more ranch. Our server is no where to be found for a few mins or so. So, I made him a small amount of ranch in a small dessert bowl from the salad bar. As I’m eating the rest of my husband’s salad, the server comes up and says, “oh, you wanted the salad bar? and I politely said, “no, this is his(gesturing to husband) that you brought to him. I’m just eating what he didn’t want.” She replies so insinuatingly, “yeah I saw you up there” (meaning the salad bar area). My husband tells her (basically) absolutely not the way to provide customer service and how rude that was. She is arguing with us about being at the salad bar and I’m trying to explain and I’m point at the small bowl of ranch why I was at the salad bar. She continues to hold her ground instead of apologizing. So I told her that if she wanted to be that way, then I can be that way and tell her manager about how long it took to finally get service. She said “well we are really busy” (horrid excuse with again, no empathy or apology” and her manager was who told her to come say something about “wanting to add a salad” My son, who is usually the most level headed and just wants peace was the one who said first, “let’s go, we’re not eating here”. So, we left and needless to say, won’t be back. (The young lady who was serving everyone coffee...
Read moreMy husband and I have ordered several times from here. I would call in the order and on his way home from work would pick it up. We have not had any problems. The times I've called, it's always been a very friendly man that I've spoken with. When I called tonight a woman answered and immediately said "hold please" then click. I waited for about 10 minutes and hung up. I called back and the same thing. I totally understand being busy and needing to put people on hold. As aggravating as it is to hold, I do understand. So I waited. She came back on and apologized and asked if she could help me. I told her I wanted to place an order but wouldn't be there for about an hour. My parents owned a restaurant for years and I worked with them. Most places appreciate you calling ahead of time and don't mind at all. She abruptly tells me "Well you need to call closer to time. We can't take an order this early". It was an hour before he would be there to pick it up. I tell her that I thought ordering ahead of time was usually appreciated. She says "they would have to hold it in the kitchen. Or they might forget to fix it or I might forget to even take it back"..Im in disbelief, just shaking my head. What??? I said well ok I won't order then. She said ok and hung up. I don't know if she is an owner or an employee but I've never had a restaurant tell me that. If they are that incompetent, they might need someone else running the cash register. They need some kind of system if she or "they" can't remember to have an order ready in an hour. Wow! I have never complained on any place before but this was very rude and really bad customer service. If they think they are so successful that losing customers don't matter, they better think twice. "Pride cometh before the fall". We...
