Benny’s pizza has one of the best calzones in Fort Pierce, however, our recent order of a small Mulberry Street Pizza (14”), garlic knots, and some wings (10) totaling $43.07 left us very disappointed. We used YELP to find and order from Benny’s menu, which cited different prices from what we were charged. Garlic knots (6) are $3 on Yelp versus $4.95 in person for example. Additionally, there was a “convenience fee (3.99%)” of $1.55 added to the order, though this was a pick up.
When we arrived to pick up our order, a worker was sitting on the service counter while on her personal phone. If this was the same worker that answered the phone, and rung up the order, then we assume her name is “Bubbles” as listed on the receipt. “Bubbles” should not be sitting on any counter for a plethora of health code reasons.
Personal rant: Pizza take out used to be the most affordable option for parties and quick dinners, and we’d like to continue supporting small businesses over big box stores like Pizza Hut and Dominoes, but really? Are these price inconsistencies and hidden fees what we are to expect moving forward from our small town pizza shops and...
Read moreWe recently moved to the area and had high hopes for this place based on the positive reviews. Unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing. While I prefer to leave positive feedback, I believe in being honest and transparent.
We ordered a side of meatballs and a Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad. The sauce tasted reminiscent of Prego, and the meatballs, though a decent size, tasted like canned of spaghetti meatballs from Chef Boyardee. The grilled chicken seemed like it came from a freezer-burned Tyson bag—tasted microwaved and rubbery. The croutons were chewy and soggy, while the side of garlic rolls were stale dinner rolls drenched in butter with a dusting of garlic powder.
The Caesar dressing was tasty, but overall, I felt I could have made better-tasting food at home. If these basic items are not done well, I don’t have confidence in the rest of the menu.
We spent almost $30, which felt excessive for two items, especially considering the...
Read moreThis is some great pizza! Don't let the size or location fool you, there are times when we feel the toppings could be a bit more generous but when we eat the pizza we are just happy to have a place that uses quality ingredients and cooks it just right. I would've given a full 5 stars for service, but it is agitating when on the phone and being asked, "is that it?" after each item. We're stopping to do that, rather than just continuing on with the order. It sends a message, of hurry up, while ironically wasting time. I'll continue with the order and I promise I've got better things to do than silently holding the phone to my ear too... "can I get you anything else", would be a bit more polite", but "ok" says you got it recorded and I can move on with the order. I promise you I'll tell you "that's all" when I'm finished. 😂
Otherwise, very polite and respectful. Don't take it personally it's just constructive criticism...
Ps the place is clean and...
