I've been stopping by here Thursday night after work or ordering on my weekend off to get some good food without having to cook it. It's usually 9:30 or so when I leave work and get to get dinner to go. Always looked forward to it at the end of my shift. Good food, good service, never anything wrong with the order or missing.
Guess all the above is a thing of the past. My order tonight was my usual off the three for me menu. Burger and fries, chips and salsa and a coke. Tonight I ordered my usual and received the burger, salsa, coke and fries. Hopefully anyone who reads this noticed I left the chips off what I received, because the to go server left it off my order.
Ok it's just chips, no biggie. I tossed out the salsa and started on my burger. The burger was good as usual, the fries however was a rather generous serving at first glance. The container was packed with the burger and fries. Sound good? Well it wasn't. About half of the fries were small rather crispy parts that might have been good had they not been almost rock hard. It felt like they were about to clean the fryer out for the night when my order popped up, so they just said "good enough for this guy!" And dumped the contents into my box.
Summary: good burger, missing chips for my chips and salsa, bad fries. I did as usual leave a seven dollar tip.. had I not already discussed getting chili's to go with my mom for lunch tomorrow I'd be taking a good six month break from this weekly "treat" which I am no longer looking forward to tomorrow.
Edit: against my better judgement I went back the day after the original review. My mom and I had already planned that so I thought i might as well give a second chance now.
I got a burger and fries, coke and decided to get chips and queso instead of chips and salsa. My mom went with some chippen strips, chips and salsa and diet coke. My mom's meal was alright. She ended up not wanting the chips and salsa, so I took that home with me after we ate. My burger was very salty but at least the fries were good this time. For dinner that night I went to eat my chips and salsa... Those were some terrible chips. Thick and very crunchy, like maybe they were stale and got recooked a few days later. Usually the chips and good for a few days after getting them here, so these were either very poorly cooked or ancient. So much for that 2.50$ I spent on the upgrade for chips and queso. The chips from my mom's order were perfect though. Like two different people cooked them or something.
So what's the final summary on this place? I'm going to have to give it a good six month break. Right now the food is no longer on par with where it once was.
Edit: Three months after that last visit I gave them another try. Seems my luck continues. I'd stopped by Saturday night after work and got my usual burger and fries off the 3 for me menu and paid extra to get queso for the chips. Didn't notice the chips were missing until I went to eat my lunch today.. which would have been chips and queso. Thanks a bunch Chili's for the final last bad experience. Never again do I...
Read moreWe went to eat here at 7pm on a Thursday evening. There had to be some big event going on in Ft. Smith because every single eating establishment was PACKED. There were people having to wait but we got seated right away. Our service was terrible. It took probably 15-20 mins before a server came by to even take our drink orders so we were definitely ready to order our food. Our server was very cheerful and friendly acting but she loved to repeat, "oh yeah, definitely" each time we requested lemons for our water (it took 4 times of asking her to finally get some). I ordered a steak medium and made sure she knew that meant very pink in the middle. Apparently the cook wasn't aware of it because my steak came out well done and chewy. It took a very long time for us to get our food but the server did ask me to cut into the steak to make sure it was cooked the way I'd ordered it. She agreed it was definitely not medium and said she'd let the manager know. I had zero faith that she'd remember to tell the manager but, to my surprise, he come to our table shortly after. His name was Bob and he was great. I let him know it could tell they were understaffed and knew they probably hadn't expected to be so packed on a Thursday night. He couldn't have been a better manager. He comped both of our meals and only charged us for the soft drinks. He was apologetic and thanked me for being so understanding. I'd have given my experience here zero stars (if possible) iif it hadn't been for the manager, Bob. Thanks to him, I may actually give visit this Chili's again in the future and see if the servers and cook can redeem themselves and replace this experience with a better one. Zero stars for the waitress, Nikki. 5 stars for Bob. Averaged out to 3 overall. We were there for 1 hour and 30 minutes and we did not stick around after we ate. I don't know if this review will help anyone decide to eat here or not but figured I'd share...
Read moreSO DISAPPOINTED Chicken fajitas have been great since the restaurant opened----tonight tasteless. They were partially uncut-- so I had to. No room to write all of this. Waitress forgetful, either didn't serve us a tea or overcharged for it. Meal was rushed. Had to ASK FOR OUR DESSERT. And they suddenly had no more of the mini-molten lava cakes, so to make it better gave us a large to split and comped a second one. We should have declined the second; too many calories, the split would have been fair. We got the $ 10 meal --salad, fajitas , mini dessert. Chips ordered on side were too thin to catch any of that EIGHT DOLLAR GUACAMOLE made at table side Waitress first forgot our silverware, then we realized we'd been given no napkins . By the time we'd started our salads , the entree was there and our waitress seemed cheerfully inconvenienced. She was audibly assuring nearby tables that their orders were late for one reason or another. Had to ask for water. A tea with lemon that was ordered and then changed to another beverage during the ordering process was still on our ticket( by the way, LOVE😣that self checkout) Too difficult for hubby to take unreceived tea off the bill, so he just left it. I wasn't happy with that ( by this time I was just So not happy) and pointed error out, asked for tea to go. I bet my husband that it wouldn't have any lemon, and I won. But we just walked away. . Don't trouble yourself to go there; they may not trouble themselves to remember to even come back after you've ordered. If a manager calls me, I will not be able to complain about anyone specifically---don't even remember getting her name. I may have just missed it, but don't remember it being mentioned. * After a month, no one has even contacted us to assure working on...
