China City — Restaurant in Fort Smith

I want to say that my family frequented this place when I was child. I am nearly 30 now.

It's nothing like it used to be. I came here yesterday with a friend (an older lady who also had been going here for years). The condition this place is in is absolutely deplorable. The carpet doesn't look like it's been shampooed or even replaced since 1995. The ceiling looks unsafe. The bathroom.... Don't go wash your hands if you want to keep your appetite. There was human feces all over the floor along with toliet paper everywhere. It smelled awful in there. One lady came out and had the nastiest look on her face and said she wouldn't let her dog pee in there. You can still see nicotine in the cracks of the wall from when you used to be allowed to smoke in businesses.

The waitstaff was the worst I've ever seen. They would bump into you and give you the classic "go to hell" look rather than saying excuse me or apologizing. Our waitress acted as if it she didn't know where her mind was. She wandered around doing NOTHING of value. My friend was getting irritated and asked a couple of customers if they had their drinks refilled. A group that had been there longer than us said they hadn't seen her since getting seated. When she brought me my water, there was some stuff floating in the top. Before I could say anything, she was walking away with a nasty smile on her face (which was weird because everyone else after that had been served water from a pitcher).

My friend went to pay and the guy at the register was rude. She said something about not ever coming there again and he simply replied "Good. We don't want you back" instead of hearing our concerns.

The food isn't worth the $20 we spent for just the two of us. Old food was mixed with new food. I went to get some fruit and it was swarmed with flies. The cantaloupe and melon had strands of long HUMAN HAIR in it. I told a waiter about it but he only swatted the flies away and removed the hair with his hands.

Needless to say I will NEVER return to this place again and I hope they get condemned. As some other user said, food quality is down but the prices are up. With higher prices, it seems like that could afford to update the building, cook better food, and hire more...

Tried this place for the first time around 2pm on a Monday after reading some pretty great reviews. At first glance, the place looked like it could use some work. The wallpaper was peeling off, the ceiling tiles had black stuff (dirt, I think?) on them, there was rust on the metal brackets of the ceiling tiles, all around the place looked very unkept. The buffet appeared to be very fresh, as everything was steaming. I mainly came there for the crab rangoon and was very disappointed. There was little to no filling (maybe half a teaspoon per crab rangoon) and it was really chewy. I figured it was old so I waited until they refilled it. It wasn’t as chewy, but still barely had any filling at all. The lo mein, while it was decent, was mainly noodles, hardly any vegetables. The desserts had flies flying around them and landing on them. The ice cream was great, though. The service is VERY lacking. I saw our waitress twice; first time was when she asked if i wanted a refill (my cup was empty for a good while) and the last time was when she brought me our bill. She seemed polite, but wasn’t attentive. It was $19.88 for two people and I don’t feel like it was worth it at all. If they fixed the place up a bit and stopped being stingy with their food, this place would be great. For the time being, I don’t ever see myself coming back nor recommending...

It's possible the cook called in and Someone else was just doing their best to fill in or something so I don't want to say never go here, but when I ate here the food was pretty bland and either over cooked or under cooked with very little in-between And That's scary when You're eating sea food. The rice was under cooked, and crunchy the string beans were Over cooked and Oily. The Vegetables with meat were under cooked so the meat was rubbery while the vegetables were crunchy The host and possibly Owner? was real nice and seemed to have good contact with customers I just was not impressed with the cooking It looked like it might be good at a glance but was very underwhelming by both being improperly cooked and also bland. I'm not picky I will eat just about anything and Typically Spend several days a week at a chinese buffet because I enjoy the variety they have but when I'm paying for food I expect it to be atleast safe to eat and While You're not likely to get sick From food that was fried Even if it's under cooked, it's just not worth The risk. I might go back sometime because The host seemed to be doing his best and It's possible it was just a bad day or they were...
