El Lorito Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Fort Smith

I ordered the #1 Combo and my wife had the #14 Combo. Each dinner was to have a chile relleno, along with the other items. When the plates arrived the rellenos appear to be missing. Probing under the cheese, where you think you might find a relleno, your fork recovers beans and a table spoon sized bit of green. That’s it. That’s all. That’s your chile relleno, Bud. The most pathetic excuse for a chile relleno I have ever experienced. A pile of beans, with a sliver of poblano pepper the size of a Band-Aid strip, all covered in cheese to hide the deception. This was not a mistake in the kitchen. I have now researched old reviews, confirming that this is the way they have been making them for years. You feel ripped off after you see what they give you. An authentic relleno it is not. A sham it is.

There is no value in continuing with this review, the restaurant blew it with me…..

When you can’t provide quality food, cover it with cheese. That is the mode of operation here!

They say don't judge a book by it's cover....well I say don't judge a restaurant by the building. My husband and I were in Fort Smith for only one night and we decided to eat here based solely on Google reviews. When we pulled into the parking lot we were a little skeptical because it's just a little "hole in the wall" kind of place, but it was getting late and there weren't many places open so we decided to go in. Glad we did. Our waitress was friendly and efficient, there were a surprisingly large number of choices on the menu, and our food not only arrived at our table quickly, it was quite good. Definitely the best Mexican food in area 100% better than LA Huerta too! I eat mexican every other day and every place I travel and let me tell ya!, the hamburger meat in the burritos and tacos is amazing so much flavor also the salsa is fresh and has a better flavor then 9 out of 10 places I been. The price aligns with other menus and is not (more) expensive the lunch specials are cheap if you want to try this place for under $10 come for lunch order a # and a water.

I order Chili Relleno & beef Burrito and compare every place I go.

Service is nice and welcoming, the meat and salsa has above average flavor and not in a tex mex way lol, rice is also good not plain or lacking flavor like...
