The food is great, but the last two times we went, the consistency of the food was variable, and the service poor. For example, one evening this week we went 9:30 pm... Realize this is before closing. Nevertheless, while there were few people in the restaurant, the staff were behind the counter, talking and laughing, not paying attention so it was a minute or so before they spotted me to take my order. While the fries came fine, the wait for the sundae was interesting. I stood at the counter waiting for the sundae, while 5 staff were congregated around the freezer. The girl making the sundae was more interested in talking with the others than attention with making the sundae. There was no customer interest that had been present when it first opened.
One evening... Abou 5 pm, we stepped into the restaurant and the floors and tables were dirty. We turned around and left.
Today, around 8:50pm, I went through the drive through for two sundaes. At the window she asked for the same amount I had been told at the order speaker, but then handed me a sack of fries and went to get other things. I told her the fries were not mine and that I ordered two sundaes. She found the sundaes, but there was no "I'm sorry", and was more involved in interacting with the staff than attention to customers. THEN... While eating her sundae at home my wife found a black or dark brown piece of something. It looked to me to maybe be part of a leaf, but not even a strawberry leaf. Made her nauseated and of course elected to not finish the sundae.
We are so sad about this, because we had eagerly anticipated the opening in Fort Smith and tend to drop by two or three times a week in the evening for dessert, as well as go for...
Read moreThe order taker could not keep the order straight and I had to keep repeating myself. When they finally understood I pulled around and waited in line for my food it was very slow moving and when I had my turn I understand why. I had three drinks she only gave me two I had to ask 2 additional times for the 3rd drink. They handed our burgers but my son looked and they had forgotten the fries. Then they wanted to see my receipt. They had even stuck a sticker on my bag saying that it had 4 burgers and 3 fries but I guess their screen and the sticker on the bag wasn't enough. Then we got 2 fries and had to ask for the third. We had a medium concrete that was not even filled close to the lid and was given to us before the bag and was melted by the time the fries were right. This would have been bad enough but to add insult to injury there were at least 10 employees were in the back all but 1 was talking, I watched the drive thru employees touching each others hair, twirling around and one even sang instead of taking care of the customer. I witnessed the majority of the workers eating in the food prep area most eating fries but 1 was eating frozen custard. It was like I had to beg for the food I paid for while they socialized. We just moved here from NWA and had gone to the store in Rogers many times. Our food was always excellent there and the staff very professional and just as young as the Ft. Smith store. I realize this store is new with a new crew but this was ridiculous. I would expect to get a discount on my order but all I got was frustration and a poorly managed fast...
Read moreSo sad. From MY family go to place to the bottom of the choice list, just that fast. While driving 4 hours to DFW airport to return my grandson home, we were looking forward to our stop at Freddie's. The one in Durant OK was along our route. So we stop and are first greeted with a rude person telling us to speak up while still trying to sort out our order. Then someone else actually takes the order. Now we see the price on the drive thru display and then get to the window and we are told the $17.47 charge as saw is now $20.75. They tell me this is because the replacement of a vanilla malt with my grandson's meal. Well OK, kind of expensive buy we are in a hurry. So the lady at the window now askes if I want my change back???? What is that question?? Not normal OR appropriate! So I tell her yes please and she now turns it over to another person after we wait on the actual order. She hands it out and does NOT give us the malt which we realize when we are down the road!! So we call back and get a message that because you ate busy no one can take the call. So I guess it is a scam all around. Request a tip I assume get a NO reply so Keep the malt. Or is it a real error and a strange set of circumstances. If so make it right Freddie's!! We were fans but see...
