My family and I ate at Miguel's Taqueria on a Saturday night. We showed up an hour and a half before closing. There was a sign on the door that said they were out of carne asada; however, the waitress told us they were actually just trying to limit a lot of customers from coming in so they could close early due to a family emergency. She told us it was still fine for us to order and eat, so we went ahead and placed our order. After waiting about 30 minutes for our food, we received it and began to eat. A few minutes into our meal, they began to sweep and mop, put chairs on tables, and turn off some lights. By this time, we were the only customers left, and there was still an hour left before closing time. While this was happening, some employees and their friends came in carrying pizza boxes and 2 thirty packs of beer. They began eating and drinking loudly. One of the owners told a friend in Spanish that we had been there too long and were taking too long to eat. Keep in mind, we had only been there about 40 minutes at this point, and 30 minutes of that had been spent waiting on our food. I got up to pay so we could just leave, despite not having finished our food, and I spoke to the cashier in Spanish. The owner, who had been speaking rudely about us, realized I understood what she had said, and looked really embarrassed, but did not apologize. I was just not impressed by the way we were treated as an inconvenience, and that they were rude and tried closing the store when we had just been served. We have not...
Read moreNot thrilled. Very small testaurant Chips and dip was disappointing. The chips themselves were thick and crisp made from a flour tortilla chips, though for the price it was not what was expected, a flat layer of chips; we had more salsa and queso than the chips served would use and paid $4.00 plus for it... Almost every restaurant with Mexican food serves chips as a natural appetizer to the meal. There was no sauces on the table, only a salt shaker... My friend had to take his meal to go to get back to work because they messed up our order and didn't bring him his torta. The fries was no bigger than a sonic medium fry, they gave two ketchup packets. The Alambre plate was very flat no mound everything was served very flat on the plate. What I know of Alambre meals is not what I was served. If I ordered a fajita, the only difference would probably be an additional amount of onions and peppers with no shredded cheese dribble on top. The side was a 2 ounce Mexican rice and 2 ounce refried beans. For $40 meal were I ate my meal alone as our other meal came late where we to leave and take it to go...I do not recommend this place and I will not be back again. I eat out every night in Fort Smith and this was one of the most disappointing meals I've ever had...
Read moreHorrible experience! Ordered 3 tacos and a Carne Asada plate. I asked for extra Salsa during my pickup of my to-go order. The cashier asked how many, and I said how about four? Every Mexican restaurants that I know offers salsa for free in a 1 inch plastic container, so I had no idea that I would be charged 75 cents for each of the four 1 inch containers, which were only half filled salsa. Also, I was paying with a credit card and was charged $1 for that. When I got home and looked at the receipt I was surprised to see that what I thought was going to be some inexpensive Mexican Food ended up being way over my budget for the night. I called to complain to the owner but she was completely unapologetic. The bill ended up being significantly higher because of extra charges, which I believe is an unethical business practice. Eat here at your own risk of being ripped off with an owner who thinks she is savvy at overcharging customers with...
