I had never been in here before, so after an early morning appointment at my Dr's office I decided to stop in with my 10 month old and best friend. It was a really slow day because there were probably only 6 customers eating in the cafe area. When we walked in no one greeted us, there was a lady who was taking an order but the girl at the counter who was making a coffee drink just stared and then turned away. So we decided to seat ourselves. I scanned the room to find a highchair to put my little guy in and I found one across the room at a table that no one was using. So I grabbed it and brought it back to the table and as I was putting my little guy in it, the red-headed/older waitress came up to me and in a rude tone informed me that the highchair was for a large party for 11:30AM with four kids, and they "needed the highchair for them." As I kept putting my little guy in it, I looked at my phone and it was only 10:30AM. She then said in a snobby voice, "WELL, I guess you can use it!" I was confused as to why she would talk to me so rudely. So after she stormed off after saying nothing else, my friend and I decided to leave. What kind of person talks to another person like that? I work in retail and I never treat people like this. I do not plan on coming back, and I have told all of my other friends of this and it will probably hault them from spending their money...
Read moreGosh, I REALLY want to love this place, but it comes up short in some basic, but important ways. First and foremost, their croissants. This quintessential French pastry is a must for any French bakery, and Bon Appetit's ARE tasty - however, if you want it hot, the only way to have it heated up is in a microwave, which COMPLETELY ruins it! Instead of flaky and tasty, it becomes soggy and bleh. We ordered the ham and cheese croissant while dining in, so they heated it, and I was sorely disappointed. I ordered one to take home, heated it in the toaster oven, and it was absolutely delicious! If you're taking the time to make them, serve them right, in my opinion. The other pastries were as expected for a French bakery, and personally, not my thing, but my family loves them (in general) and enjoyed them here, as well. As for the coffee, it was mediocre, nothing to get excited about, but it WAS served in a mug (versus paper), and I do appreciate that. Last, but certainly not least, was the service. It was quite busy when we went, but were were helped by 3 different waitresses and not one of them was friendly. They were very short, rushed and even when I tried to make a joke to lighten the mood, it was passed over. Overall, I recommend a visit, but I am hoping the owners read my review and consider a toaster oven to make their hot options reflect the deliciousness...
Read moreI've been going to this restaurant for many years and I have to say that this year I have been less than impressed with the customer service. It's almost as if the employees are bothered by you coming in and they have to wait on you. Especially when you have a to-go order it's like you're putting them off. When a person calls in a to go order generally they're doing that because they are on a time restraint but to have to stand there and wait on four other people to be checked out before you can even get your to go order is an extreme inconvenience. This did not ever used to be the case when I came in to visit this restaurant, I've always ordered to go. I think that I will have to refrain from coming back for a while and hopefully by then they will have weeded through the ones who generally do not like doing their job of which they clearly applied for. I too am a small business owner in this town and if this was the kind of service that I offered my clients I don't think I would have any especially reoccurring ones. I will say there is a very pleasant young lady that works there who has red hair she's been there all along and she is NOT one of the ones I'm...
