Review of my take out experience at Yardie Jerk Express Food Truck on July 26, 2025.
Stand outs: I was just passing through the area as I am from out of town. I just googled and found this restaurant. I looked at the menu and decided that I wanted to try several items, without having to buying several meals. The chef was willing to customize a combo for me on the fly and reasonably price it. Excellent flexibility for a young growing entrepreneur. Very pleasant, interactive, and timely customer service. One of the biggest concerns for me about eating out, is cleanliness. This establishment prioritizes cleanliness both inside and outside of the truck as well as the small outdoor eating area. Nice ambiance. On arrival, I was surprised that the restaurant was a food truck...I was not expecting that. However, from my experience, I did not miss the typical restaurant setting because of the ambiance created outside the truck. Generous serving sizes. My plate served me twice. Good flavours for each item on my plate. I tried the Oxtail, Curried Goat and Jerk Chicken. Although oxtail is my all time favorite Jamaican meal, I mostly enjoyed the curried goat. Everything has good authentic Jamaican flavors.
Cons:. No business is without challenges and Yardie Jerk has its own. However, it is a growing business and the proprietor seems dedicated to continued improvement. Limited parking. I can imagine in rush hour there may be challenges in that department. You may have to improvise. I had no such challenge because I was early and it was not during rush hour. For my palette, the oxtails were a tad on the saltier side but not egregiously so. That's a personal preference however, and many others may find it totally fine considering the American pallet. Not sure if this is a real con but I'm providing my experience and impressions.
Pros and cons considered, this is definitely a good Jamaican restaurant option that I would definitely recommend trying. A strong 4/5 for me, and I am a...
Read moreThis place is awesome, the food, the environment, the customer service is a vibe! The owners are very professional, you don’t have to wait an extremely long time to get fresh, deliciously flavorful food. I would definitely rate this establishment a 10 out 10, you get good flavorful, reasonably priced food and you get a pleasant experience. I think that it’s worth giving a try and I’m very confident that if you do, you will be very pleased. I ordered oxtails, cabbage and rice and peas on my initial visit, one word phenomenal! The second time I tried the jerk chicken, festival and cabbage, and it was just as good. I can definitely come to the conclusion that they take pride in their food and it’s not just a business , it’s a passion for them because you can taste it in their food. I wish this establishment the best of luck in their future endeavors! You have to...
Read moreStopped by Yawdie Jerk to check them out, and to my surprise, the food was absolutely on point! Hands down the best Jamaican food in the area. My mom is Jamaican, so I know real authentic flavor when I taste it — and this was the real deal. I was so impressed that I decided to have them cater a birthday party, and the food did not disappoint. Everyone went back for seconds and even took to-go plates! Yawdie Jerk is officially our go-to spot for authentic...
