In my continuing quest to find good cheese curds, I got a chance to stop by Bagger Dave's for dinner. Unfortunately, I think overall it was just a so-so experience. The atmosphere in the places nice for the tavern experience that I believe they're trying to go for. The service was good and we were well taking care of. We were able to customize our burger the way we wanted it, including swapping out the turkey patty for a beef one. And having the burger prepared on a bed of lettuce without the bun.

I would say our burgers were really good and might even be approaching being worth the $15 price tag but I would say overall that the food was just okay. If you're looking for cheese curds, there are definitely better places in town that I have reviewed. Culver's and Mad Anthony's are way above bagger Dave's in my opinion. The cheese curds here are made from Wisconsin white cheddar which is great but the breading really didn't have any seasoning that complemented the cheese in any way. They were good but not as good as I feel like they could have been. The fries here were the real disappointment. I got the train wreck burger which was excellent and the people that I was with really enjoyed the mushroom and Swiss burger. But the fries that come with the burger were flavorless, not very warm and did not have any kind of seasoning on them at all. Maybe I should have tossed some more salt on them or something but I feel like the batch is that all three of us got were from the bottom of the fryer and had been there for a little while.

This time the bar itself wasn’t as dirty as it has been in previous visits. I’ve had ok service at tables and bar experiences ranging from good to shameful but tonight really stands out as the worst excuse for service I’ve experienced. It’s pathetic when Waffle House has more to offer than a place that pretends to be a real restaurant. We greeted the bartender, who then turned away from us without a word. When I asked for a Bombay Sapphire, she was confused so my friend had to explain that it’s gin. Well, they don’t have it anymore at this full-service bar but they have well gin or Hendricks. Fine. I was surprised that it wasn’t as overpriced as the food, but that isn’t saying much. The bartender asked us what we wanted, then asked us to repeat because she was on her phone with an earbud in and couldn’t hear us. This went on the entire hour or so we were there. When paying with a card, the automatic lowest you can hit is 18% and that was insulting. If your bartender is manning a suicide hotline, for Pete’s sake, give her the night off. Otherwise, get your employees off their phones. My friend tried to order a drink three times but bartender was too busy on the phone. First off I am going to complain. Not about the food or the service. Not about the atmosphere. All that was great. However I want to come here daily because the food and service is great. The atmosphere is wonderful. But when I come for lunch I absolutely NEED WI-FI!! WHY CAN'T YOU HAVE WI-FI?!! Such a simple thing. If I want to meet my business peers at a place for lunch we use laptops for our lunch break and work while having lunch. Seems like a standard thing these days. GET WI-FI and I will make this my go to olace. Without it I'm not coming here very often. Aside from that I will tell you my review about the rest. Of which I give that 5 stars. But for the mere fact of no Wi-Fi I can't give it 5 stars..... When I first got there I was greeted by Amber, the store manager. I asked her what was good on the menu other than burgers. She suggested pizza. I thought that was kinda weird pizza at a burger place but ok I tried it based on the managers suggestion. I have to tell you...The 🍕 pizza there is absolutely amazing 🤩 ironically for a burger place you wouldn't expect to get great pizza but I highly recommend trying it. Aside from that I had a server named Casey who was super friendly, and worked extremely hard to help everyone at the bar and the tables. Like she was lightning fast. Fast friendly service...
