What a gem this restaurant is! I was stuck in downtown Fort Wayne for three days and I stopped in each of those days. It was a couple minutes walk from the Hampton Inn which I stayed at. There wasn't much to offer in the area in regards to vegetarian options so it was an easy decision to make to come to Elijah's. The first night I was there I had the vegetarian lasagna. It was really good and was stuffed with veggies. The barbeque sauce added a pleasant and funky curve ball kick.
Night two I had the Mediterranean pizza, raspberry iced tea, and a slice of the navy bean pie. Again, the food was delicious. The pizza was large enough that it be easily shared with second person. I actually ate the rest for breakfast on day three lol. I was intrigued with the navy bean pie so I had to try it. It's similar in taste and texture to pumpkin pie, but pumpkin pie doesn't hold a candle to Chef Kevin's navy bean pie!
Day three I was nearing the end of the day and my wife texted that she was having a pie craving, so I walked on over to Elijah's and told Chef Kevin that I had a problem that he could easily solve. I ended up purchasing a whole navy bean pie to take back to CEO of my life. She loved it!
This is wonderful little restaurant with jazzy vibes and relaxing ambiance. The staff was very accommodating and makes you feel right at home. Chef Kevin is a pretty cool guy. Menu is impressive with vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian, and halal options.
I will definitely stop in next time I'm...

My teenager son and I were in town for a soccer tournament when we discovered Elijah’s, a few doors down from where we were staying downtown Fort Wayne. He and I always try to find great food wherever we travel. Most restaurants don’t provide food better than my wife and I can cook at home with our children. We always seek the best food we can find during our tournament travels. We are “foodies” and know good nutrient dense food when we taste it, as well as the attentiveness of who prepared it. Every bit of food on our plates was seasoned great, the ingredients had purpose and kept us excited. God designed our bodies to consume His created plants and animals for our sustainability and the proper internal function of our bodies. Bottom-line: We enjoy real food and Elijah’s Restaurant and Bakery delivers. Lastly, I thought we had been under charged for our meal when I looked at the receipt. I couldn’t believe how reasonable the cost of our meal was. We are used to paying whatever when seeking out great food on our travels. I wish our stay was longer because we would love to have enough time to try the entire menu.

Read moreFirst time visiting. I ordered the Lemon Pepper Chicken and Potato Pucks. The chicken was brilliant, flavorful and juicy all the way through, crispy exterior. I didn’t expect that the red cabbage and squash that came as a side was going to be the best red cabbage I’ve ever had. Amazing savory seasoning, no toughness to the cabbage at all. The potato pucks were excellent as well, savory again with brightness from the fresh tomato and cilantro. Wonderful balance. If you’re coming to Elijah’s, expect flavor, because that’s what you’re going to get. I was too full to eat dessert at the restaurant but I’m taking home some of the Bean Pie. Excited to see...
