Time flies, and here we are, just four years later, celebrating his graduation from the University of Indianapolis. He has earned his Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain Management, a testament to his dedication and hard work. Revisiting Purple Mountain Cheesecakes and Desserts For this special occasion, we decided to revisit Purple Mountain Cheesecakes and Desserts, a local favorite that has never failed to impress. Our family had fond memories of their creations, and we knew they would add a sweet touch to our celebration. A Delightful Brunch with Strawberry Swirl Cheesecake The highlight of our brunch was the stunning Strawberry Swirl Cheesecake. It was a symphony of flavors, with the perfect balance of creamy cheesecake and the vibrant taste of strawberries. The family was truly amazed, each bite a reminder of how special this day was. The Showstopper: 2-Layer Chocolate and White Cake However, the real showstopper was the 2-layer Chocolate and White Cake with cream cheese icing. It was nothing short of spectacular—each layer perfectly moist and decadent. The cream cheese icing added the perfect tangy sweetness that left everyone wanting more. Ruby Bates 2021 June 12th was nephews Open House in Indianapolis and I'm responsible for bringing the cake for every graduation... Anxiety and Panic had set in after calling several bakeries... Most of them said, due to Covid unable to take new orders, supplier behind, etc. I called this Purple Mountain at the last minute... I didn't need cheesecakes; I needed 2 Cakes. I want to personally tell Glynn, THANK YOU, you surpassed our families' expectations... Your 3-layer Chocolate & White and the 3-layer Strawberry Cakes were the talk of town in Indianapolis. I have become quite a cheesecake connoisseur. It’s my absolute favorite dessert. I’ve tasted cheesecake at so many places and have to say that there is not one other that comes close to comparison of Purple Mountain. They are absolutely fantastic. If you are looking for something truly exceptional, I very highly recommend them! And while they deliver a dessert better than any other I’ve experienced, their pricing is very fair and worth every penny. We are fortunate that some local restaurants have started carrying Purple Mountain Cheesecake to serve as dessert. Very wise choice for these establishments! I only wish their name was bigger and more known. Some restaurants I frequent carry ‘Cheesecake Factory’ and I’ve told each of these managers they should really contact Purple Mountain to be able to offer an exceptional dessert.

Staff at Purple Mountain have always been so friendly and accommodating. My favorite cheesecake isn’t a standard menu item, but they always accommodate and make it happen. I love New York style with added Vanilla extract flavoring and a thick carmel topping. Amazing! I also love their Strawberry Swirl and recently tried their Mocha and it was delicious!

Currently, Purple Mountain works in more of a commercial kitchen setting, so you order ahead of time. I would love to see them open some sort of small cafe. I would stop in weekly for a slice of cheesecake and an iced coffee. They were trying to make this happen in the old Jack & Johnnies building downtown, but it didn’t work out and the city seems to be claiming that entire area for their Riverfront project. I do hope they don’t give up on this idea. With how special their cheesecake is, I really see potential in them having a walk-in style atmosphere.

My dessert of choice has always been cheesecake and after I found out about this place I was looking for any excuse to try it. After maybe a month of going through all the flavors I settled on the raspberry topped cheesecake and the mocha cheesecake. I went with the 6” cake, as I would feel less guilty eating 2 slices at a time. The raspberry exceeded my expectations and my kids, to my surprise, really enjoyed it. The mocha upon first taste had a very distinctive taste which was honestly a surprise to me. What’s weird is you only get that hit on the first bite and after that it’s just really smooth. My preference the first night was the raspberry, however the day two winner was definitely the mocha.

The staff I spoke with were all super friendly and they were kind enough to run everything out to my car. Once another birthday rolls around I will likely be back, unless I cave in between then and now.
