Lewis Street Grill — Restaurant in Fort Wayne

My first experience with this restaurant was not a good one but I gave it another shot today--equally disappointing so now I'm writing this review. The first time I ordered the Big Boi breakfast platter for pickup. The menu states it includes: Bacon, sausage, cheese eggs, potatoes, grits, pancakes, and toast---BUT I received no grits, no cheese in my eggs, and the "toast" was an extremely greasy piece of bread that was grilled, not toasted. it was completely soggy...saturated and dripping with butter/grease and fell apart when I picked it up off the top of my pile of eggs. Waiting for my food was not a pleasant experience either, there is no warmth here, I did not feel welcome and even though I called in my order and I was told it woud be about 20 mins, I arrived 25 minutes later and still stood and waited for my food for over 20 more minutes. TODAY"S EXPERIENCE--I ordered biscuits and gravy and a garbage plate. Menu states it includes Egg, choice of meat, peppers, potatoes, onions, and cheese. Served with toast. I chose sausage but when I got the food it had sausage and bacon in it (again, extremely greasy and inedible) It had so much cheese in it that the entire dish stuck together like a brick--I could literally pick up the whole pile of food with a fork. There was absolutely nothing appetizing about this and I ended up throwing it away after attempting to take 2 bites. They need to get it together! I’ve had an issue with every order. We’re trying to support local black owned businesses but I’ll never do business with this place again and I don’t recommend. Just an FYI, I order through Uber eats for delivery.

1st order- They forgot to put 3 of my side orders in the bag. Ok, I understand people make mistakes. They told me I had to go through the app for a refund on the missing items, I did. (I ordered the turkey tips, they were good.)

3rd order- I placed an order for delivery an hour before closing time 12/19/31. I received a call from a female with a terrible attitude stating they were closing. Cool, but why are you still accepting orders?? Once again, they would not cancel the order on their end, they told me I had to go through the app for a refund even though they excepted the order. I called them back an hour later because the app would not allow me to cancel because they accepted it and it looked as if the order was in progress. I ordered a Philly cheese steak basket thru doordash. It got here about 20 minutes early—which netted some extra tipping for the driver!—and it was hot and tasty when it got here! It has cheddar cheese instead of mozzarella and fat, juicy cubes of multicolor peppers and onions—this was a perk I wasn’t expecting since the peppers and onions are usually cooked to death at other places. There was a good helping of tasty, perfectly seasoned meat (not super salty which is a total plus to me), covering both sides of the open, toasted bun, and a good portion of fries. Only 2 packets of ketchup, which is cool cuz I have my own at home, but if you’re at work or something and need more then you’ll want to ask. I ordered a can of pop and all together it was only $10 (before doordash got to it lol) and a big pile of napkins, which are def necessary!! :) I should’ve taken a picture! I’ll def be ordering...
