~I myself have now lived in Fort Wayne for 9 years, and I have never once been to Texas Roadhouse. However, I constantly drive by there, and I have also have had many different friends who themselves have been there. While I do very much always see that they have an overflowing parking lot, Everyone who I have spoken to concerning a review, have been told by them that while the food is definitely decent, that they lack in Customer Service at times; And to instead just go to either Logan’s -or- to Longhorns instead.
Due to just having had my 2nd Major Back Surgery in the past 18 weeks (From a broken piece of Vertebrate that had wedged itself between my Spine and my Nerve at my L4/L5, to now two weeks ago having had another Rupture in the same exact Region which has caused me to now having had both Rods and Fusing w/ a Cadaver Bone —Plus a Major Infection in my Spine which has left me to have to endure a PICC Line for 7 weeks coming out of my right arm to be able to inject both the heaviest Antibiotic along with having to have Heparin!), I absolutely had to get some food immediately on my stomach for the meds…. I personally decided to go to Texas Roadhouse for the convenience of it.
With my 77 year old Father in from Atlanta to assist me, we both came in and placed a to go order for the NY Strip Steaks — My Father ordered a Side Salad and a Baked Potato; While my sides were also a Side Salad w/ a Loaded Sweet Potato. Both of our Steaks were ordered M.Rare, Which were very tough to cut into to eat, and instead of my Sweet Loaded Potato, I received a regular Baked Potato!
The Customer Service Experience was Absolutely Horrible 150%!!! The black female who took our order was truly polite, but was also Very Distracted the entire time and was somewhat laughing at it.
While she tried taking our order, a younger dark-haired female who looked “Kinda Punkish”, Continuously and —VERY RUDELY— kept interrupting our ordering process, At LEAST 3 to 4 different times! Why she did this?!? It was due to a Jeep that was sitting outside with their lights on…Who too was waiting for his own To-Go Order to be completed. She continuously kept coming from the Back of the House, would look out the window at the Jeep, and then would ask our To-Go Order Clerk, “Who is driving the Jeep?” My immediate thought was that either someone had either accidentally left their lights on…Or that they were possibly incorrectly parked. WRONG!! She kept asking and interrupting us, SOLELY BECAUSE SHE THOUGHT THAT THE LIGHTS ON THE JEEP WERE “PRETTY”!!
Are you guys FREAKING SERIOUS?!?!?! To add salt to the wounds, the To-Go Order Clerk NEVER Apologized, NOR did she ever try to even correct her incorrect behavior period! I chose NOT to immediately complain/comment, simply out of respect for my father.
I have literally been in the restaurant business over 1/2 of my life at 45 years old, and in at least 3 different States, working in almost every single position possible from both the FOH, to the BOH…. And I have absolutely NEVER found a single Restaurant in my life who endorses this type of behavior whatsoever from ANY of the Associates/Management who work there!!
I Definitely —DO NOT— want a refund, Nor do I desire a free meal or even a “handout”. The only reason why I am truly choosing to type this review —Is to warn Anyone/Everyone to NEVER make the same mistake as either myself -or- even from my friends who too have had a Bad/Negative Experience from this exact location. Please spend your money elsewhere, as it is simply just not worth your time.

So anyone that has read my reviews knows that I am brutally honest and forward with my words… So let’s get to it! Our “previous” experience with Texas Roadhouse was mediocre AT BEST. Example, warm limp salads, steaks had to be sent back multiple times for improper cook temp, late food delivery, rude managers, terrible servers etc, etc, etc…(not good) This evening we decided to give it another run as I really wanted a steak and did NOT want to fire up the grill for myself…..this is how it went. Started pleasant, greeted with warm smiles and good evenings from the host stand. We were seated at a clean table and our server Phil greeted us with ice waters and typical questions like, “can we start you guys off with something?” I have 5 degrees in the culinary arts and have worked at some of the finest establishments in the country so my expectations are always a little higher than most people’s. Phil was a very busy guy this night, multiple tables including one very large party but his attentiveness to our needs was impeccable. Our appetizers (rattlesnake bites) came out luke warm at best (yuck). The manager Irie stopped by and immediately fixed the issue while Phil was attending to other duties. Now I am a firm believer of appetizers, salads, then entrees to the table in that order and the staff did not fail at this. The manager Irie came back around multiple times to ensure everything was running smoothly, even though the restaurant was PACKED and she seemed very busy. Phil was always spot on refilling drinks and checking on us. The salad bowls were ice cold as they should be, the salads were cold and crisp, the rolls and cinnamon butter (enough said about those addictive things) and my steak was on point with temp. My wife’s ribs were a little overcooked as well as her chicken critters but not everything can be perfect right? The manager politely apologized and offered to replace everything but my wife was kind of over it, had some of mine and those darn rolls. The manager and our server couldn’t have been better and everything was good enough that we will return again. However as we were leaving we watched multiple patrons laugh at the grill staff that they can see through the glass observation window as they were playing around, grabbing each other and carrying on like some school kids. Not very professional in the kitchen department, maybe that’s why they messed up my wife’s ribs?.?.?.? All in all it was a better than average visit and KUDOS to the server Phil and manager...
Read moreStopped in on Mother's Day, super crowded, which we expected. We used the app and were seated within 15 min of arriving. That option is great. We were seated way over in the corner, and Harris was our server. He was good, but very very busy. Got our drinks, took our order. My GF ordered sirloin medium. She hates rare and always orders medium. She also ordered Diet Coke. Waited a long time for meals to come out. When Harris served us, he asked her to cut into her steak to check doneness. We've never had an issue so she said it's not necessary. He left. After cutting into it, she found it was very rare. Now, I like it that way but she sure doesn't. She decided eating it as is was better than sending it back and waiting another who knows how long to get her meal back. When Harris did follow up, as we were finishing up our meals, she showed him (just so he would know). He clearly didn't know really what to say, except oh I'm sorry. He seemed pretty new so we didn't expect much from him. He never did refill our drinks, though, which was kind of a concern. What really bothered us, though, was that a female manager came by and did her How was everything tonight thing, and when my GF showed her the rare piece of steak on her plate, the manager literally said nothing and walked away. We both looked at each other like, what just happened. I thought maybe she raced off to take some money off the bill, but that wasn't the case. Clearly, she just didn't want to hear it or didn't know what to do and bolted. Wow. Now, we go to Texas Roadhouses all over when we travel and we love it. This won't lead us to not come back but I also couldn't let it go without letting someone know. Overall, it was very crowded, very loud, chaotic, and her meal wasn't great. Disppointing visit, but we know it'll be...
