I’m Golden Corral Buffet & Grill on Lima Road. Buffets already make me leery due to the actions of the other patrons breathing and coughing over and mishandling the food but this time, it was the employees that made sure I will never return to this location ever again and you probably shouldn’t either. I had a serving spoon in my hand, reaching to scoop sweet potatoes onto my plate. There were two employees behind the buffet counter, spraying the dirty floor on full blast with a hose. I paused, in disgust and shock at what they were doing and then I felt the water start bouncing off the floor onto my hand, as it was still hovering over the sweet potatoes…which means the contaminated water was also getting all over the food. I promptly went up to the lady who rang up our orders upon arrival and told her what was happening. She made me feel like I was the problem for being the one to identify what was taking place. She tried assuring me that it was already a clean floor, so any water hitting the food would also be clean. I asked her if the Board of Health was here, would they be doing it the same way and she said “well, that’s why we’re doing it, in case they come.” I explained that that was not an answer to my question so she then told me they are just cleaning early because closing time is soon and they want to leave. I loudly announced that if everyone here knew what just happened, they wouldn’t want to eat here either and it wasn’t right to be serving this food to unknowing people who didn’t realize what just happened. I actually accumulated a small, curious crowd at this point. I also reminded her that this location was just recently shut down for a long period of time due to a cockroach infestation and they should know better than this. She reluctantly refunded me my money, all the while reminding me I wouldn’t be able to have dessert if she gave me a refund. 🥴 I reassured her that they wouldn’t have to worry about me eating any of their food. The store manager, Jose, then came to talk to me and reassured me they would change out all of the food and that he’s never seen them do this before and he’s not sure why they did it tonight. The cooks at this point were glaring at me as they started changing out the food, however there was an entire section where they were also cleaning the floors directly behind the buffet the same way and none of that food was swapped out. Either way, it wouldn’t have been done if I didn’t point the issue out and several people already served themselves and were eating the food that floor water was spraying all over. In conclusion, I would definitely think twice before having dinner at...

Read moreSo. Much. Food!! And everything was prepared very well. This was my first time eating at Golden Corral and I was not only impressed by the taste of the entrees, but the huge variety of different foods. Beginning with the well stocked salad bar (with it's large assortment of fresh fruits) to the seafood section, then the many vegetable selections you suddenly find yourself in front of a smorgasbord of breakfast items! (This was early afternoon yet it was set up the way I expect in early morning) The Mexican foods in the next section was limited but smelled and looked good. In an area all to itself was the steak and meats area, complete with a grill and large griddle to cook your pick to your liking. Finally there was an entire wall of dessert selections: cookies, cakes, cheesecake, fudge, berry cobblers, and ice cream were only a few of the offerings! There was a chocolate fountain surrounded by various cut fruits and marshmallows on wooden skewers for dipping into the chocolate. The only reason I couldn't give this a perfect rating was the price for drinks. The meal itself was reasonably priced, but the fountain drinks had 16oz sized plastic cups with a hefty $2.65 price! When I opted for water I was directed to a large trough of ice full of bottled water for a dollar and change--- no free water offered here. (In fact, although there was an iced tea dispenser I didn't see any coffee pots, although I may have overlooked it.) But overall, with the enormous amount of good food and the plentiful and very polite wait staff, the price of drinks is hardly anything to quibble over and definitely not a reason to stay away from here in the future. I know I for one...
