Weve eaten here tons of times and never had bad service until today- my parents got there before my husband, son, and I. They were told a 20 minute wait which is very reasonable, especially on a Sunday afternoon. After 5 minutes of waiting, they both went to the restroom (thinking they had plenty of time since they were told a 20 minute wait).. apparently their name was called during that time, and of course, they didnt hear it as they were in the bathroom. When they came back out, they waited another 15 minutes to realize they were seating people that had walked in after them so my mom asked the hostess and sure enough, they called their name while they were in the bathroom. Obviously they need to work on their estimated wait times...so the hostess said she would get a table ready and walked away. We sat another 10 minutes or so and my mom went up to see what was going on-it doesnt take that long to set up a table for 4 people.. it was a different hostess this time - I'm not sure what she said but she sat us in a booth right away so its like the other hostess got our table ready then never came back to seat us?! I had to grab crayons for my son myself, was never offered them and they usually have always asked if we wanted them in the past. Once we were seated, we were greeted by our waitress after about 5 minutes- she took our drink order and we wanted to just go ahead and put our entire order in cuz we were ready and knew they were busy. The waitress seemed almost annoyed by this...She brought drinks out, then salads a little later. We had to ask for silverware at that time as we didnt have any. Then she brought breadsticks out- great.. all going well so far. Not sure what happened next but we didnt see her again until after our food was brought out which was a ridiculous long wait- about 45 minutes. My fettuccine alfredo was room temperature at best. We were completely done eating by the time she came back to see how everything was.. we all needed refills at the time and had to ask for them. My husband and I had to leave cuz we had to catch our movie so we left money with my parents for them to pay our bill cuz who knew how much longer itd be before we saw the waitress again. Turned out they were there for about another half an hr before they got the checks paid and finally able to leave. Total time being there =2 hours. Ya- they were busy.. but its very clear they dont know how to handle being that busy. Either need more staff or better trained staff.. we will be sure to go elsewhere if it's ever busy like...
Read moreI went here for the first time today with my mother and was very underwhelmed.
I ordered the chicken piccata, and my mother ordered the gluten-free version. The white wine sauce is very thin, and it came out looking more like pasta in broth. The sauce wasn’t velvety, just watery, and it seemed light on the lemon. The chicken piccata I’ve had other places (and made at home) has had a much thicker sauce. According to the waitress, this is normal for their version. Furthermore, the sauce didn’t work with my mother’s GF penne pasta, as it just slid off. My mom was happy to mop up the sauce with her chicken, as it was dry and overdone. Another thing to note, the seasoning of cheese (I think it was cheese) and herbs seemed much heavier on mine, than my mother’s, but that could have been because hers was GF.
Not improving the things, the waitress spilled tea and several hunks of ice into my chicken piccata. She offered to have the kitchen remake the dish, but I didn’t want to hold up the meal.
Most of the way through it, I found a hair under the pasta. It’s possible it could have mine, but it was a little too dark and long. I showed it to the waitress when she brought the bill, and was told that all the guys in the back have short hair. I’m still not sure what happened there. The waitress said that only the manager would be able to do anything. I was feeling pretty uncomfortable that point, and didn’t want to press the issue. I ended up paying for full price for a dinner my mother and I agreed was mediocre and filled with problems.
Also, after the waitress spilled tea into my food, I didn’t notice her refilling my drink, and was thirsty by the time I got home. I’m distinctly...
Read moreFood quality and server were both excellent. Service overall seemed a little slower than it should be, even taking into account covid. No big deal though. Listening to the kitchen staff continuously and LOUDLY harass the servers and hostess while they worked was NOT excellent. All 3 were clearly doing their jobs by taking care of their remaining dine in customers after lunch rush, running food, cleaning, answering phones, ringing out carryout, etc. Even so, I listened to the kitchen staff yell at them and ring their little handbell for - no exaggeration - 20 and 30 seconds at a time, sometimes longer, repeatedly, and sometimes while the servers were already in the kitchen and obviously already getting their food. I can imagine how unpleasant this was for the people seated right around the corner from the kitchen door; I was probably at least 20 feet away. I'm beyond impressed that all 3 ladies kept their composure and remained professional and smiling each time they reentered the dining room, because this literally went on the entire time I was in the building. I would guess they're used to it. Owner, that was some of the most shameful garbage I've ever heard from a dining room and I've worked in this industry for most of the last 20 years. If your cooks have 15 free minutes out of an hour to ring a bell and yell at women they pretty clearly have time to expedite food or help bag carryout. You might want to consider training them to be quiet and do so, or maybe pay an additional hostess to help your front of the house with their increased workload during this pandemic. Disrespectful back of the house staff isn't a new trend in our industry, but yours really...
