Haven't been to Ziffle's for at least 20 years. Last time there they were a cash only establishment. The restaurant was very clean and nicer than I remember. The only shortcoming was how close the tables were. We were in the corner which made it very difficult for even my 11 year old to get out to go to the restroom. Halfway through dinner another couple was seated right beside us. They had to shift things around to sit down. The server was very nice and was on top of things at all of her tables. The food was also very good. We tried their wings, ribs, pizza, and chicken tenders and wasn't disappointed by any of it. The coleslaw was one of my favorites.    Read moreI bought a sandwich from them at the New Haven Fall Festival and I was overcharged by over $17 dollars. I was refunded $17, but as they reminded me, tax is also involved (they didn't understand the issue at first, I thought I was upset over tax, and they kept repeating that the tax was why it cost more than I thought).
They did not refund me the tax on that $17, and I had just gone with the automatic tip presented to me on the screen, not really checking it (my bad, I know). That still led me to tipping them over 50%.
