Shorter version: I had a bad experience with customer service, even when the food is cheap and delicious.
Here's my frustration: Customer service. I normally expect to be treated as a transaction at fast food restaurants but I can easily say I have never been in any restaurant where the service looked at me directly in the eye and disregarded me. I'm not someone who is quick to anger or judgment so I proceeded to ask another employee (after the former walked passed me as if I were invisible) if I could have a cup of water while I waited for my food (same request) he turned around and proceeded with his duties as though I had not said anything. At this point, I figured the hustle and bustle caused the employees not to hear me. Right when I had the idea, however, a man asked clearly if the food brought to him was his. The try of food did not reflect his receipt, that was when the employee (the very same that ignored me previously) blatantly ignored the man and went into the shop at looking for something to eat. We both turned around to look for another employee to ask the question whether the food that he had received was, in fact, his. A girl looked up from behind the from behind the counter and with an aggressive shoulder shrug, took her headset off and went around looking for a new headset, signaling, to the man he had once again been ignored. After, an employee, who had clocked out before rolling her eyes as she walked past me to show her disdain for my idiotic request for water, while she was on break of all things, leaned over to ask her fellow if the man shouting was given the correct order. She was given a shoulder shrug and told the man that it was his. He man sat down in aggravated, defeated disbelief. I sat and waited for my food in the same disbelief thinking to myself that the only way I could even begin to give this establishment the benefit of the doubt, would have to suppose my interactions were flukes and other customer's interactions were a result of discrimination of those asking questions like "Is this my food".
Now I don't anticipate that this service is a reflection of the Braum's brand, however I do think that my situation could be a reflection of the restaurant because the short, and ever-so small interaction with the leader of the restaurant. My number was called out by the lead (as indicated by the color difference of the apron, I assume). I walked up to the counter and asked if I could get my "Bag of burgers" in a bag, the lead did not look at me once and grabbed the tray setting it down and yelled can someone bag this and walked away. The poor girl who took my order came asked if there was anything she could do and I restated my discrepancy, she bagged the order of hamburgers I ordered and I was on my way. I am now in my driveway typing this out eating all the burgers and not even sharing one. So the question of whether I'm going to overeat Braum's again is a definite yes, however, when I can I am going to try to avoid...
Read moreI just placed an order through the drive through and came home with part of my order missing. I ordered banana splits and a burger. I called and the person at the store explained to me that there was a second bag, i had no idea. i assumed everything came in the one bag that was given to me. When the girl handed me my bag i said “thank you” and she just turned around and closed the window. I thought it was rude, so i took my order and drove off. The explanation given was that they do not mix cold and hot items in the same bag, I don’t work there, i do not know and i dislike checking my order every time before i drive. I asked for a refund but apparently i have to drive 10 minutes back to get a refund. So now i am left upset and with no meal and i am not wasting 30 minutes extra for 9 dollars. If the girl at the windows would have said” you have a second bag” or something. What bothers me is that she just turned around and closed the window after i said thank you. Of course the explanation given to me when i called was that it is to keep the heat out and i should have known there was a second bag because when i said “thank you”, the girl said nothing and turned around. So my job is to always double check my order, even if that bother the drive through person because customers don’t trust them, and when a staff member does not acknowledge you saying thank, it means “ wait the order is incomplete” . The person that answered the phone was friendly but please do not make an excuse for your teammate’s attitude. She could have said something. And Braums should be able to process a refund over the phone, specially of the staff member knows that there was an incomplete order and i can easily email my receipt. But i was told that is not...
Read moreI have always been a huge fan of Braum’s. I grew up in Oklahoma, and Braum’s was a way of life. The people who worked there were always friendly, and the food was always AMAZING. I now live in southern Texas, where there are no Braum’s. So imagine my excitement when on our recent visit to Dallas, there was a Braum’s right across from our hotel! I had talked this place up to my whole family…only to have all of us completely let down. I won’t get crazy with details…but we had to wait over 45 minutes before our food was ready, and the guy who was helping us was SO unfriendly. I know sometimes people can be having a bad day, so I tried to be super nice…only to have him just be abrupt and short with me. He was incredibly rude.
The food was NOT good. Everything was cold and soggy when we got it…and apparently their carbonation was out…so they could only offer tea or water.
I haven’t had Braum’s in over 5 years. I feel so incredibly let down by this experience. Next time I’m going through Oklahoma…I’ll stop at a Braum’s again so hopefully it can redeem this experience…but I definitely won’t be coming back to this one. Braum’s is an awesome, friendly company. Do...
