I tend to stay at this location every Thursday night for a break from stress. Been doing it for months. The time previous to this, I noticed my room hadn't been made ready prior to checking in. Pillows looked like someone was laying on them. The single serve sized shampoo and conditioner were half full because they hadn't been replaced. During the breakfast before checkout, there was no juice in the vendor. There was no waffle mix in the dispenser. And in the warmer where they keep eggs and sausage, there was no sausage.
I took a gap last week and stayed at another hotel (Avid) with similar pricing. I was a fan of that hotel's cleanliness and readiness but not their myriad of hidden fees. So last night, June 28th, I returned to another stay at Quality Inn to find a dirty bath tub, more half full toiletries, and marks on my back that resemble bites from bed bugs.
I think two stays back to back with similar results is enough to dissuade me from another stay. Prior to enrolling as a member, I started my relationship with this hotel by spending nearly two weeks. It always frustrated me that nobody on site spoke of a rewards program because that was a lot of money and a lot of stays that aren't attributable to my point count.
I'm still going to take my Thursday nights off, but I'll be spending them somewhere that puts more effort like Hilton, Avid, or Staybridge, which are all just down the street from...
Read moreRooms are fairly nice, but are lacking in some minor upkeep. My room in particular had some paint chipping by the door, but that is something looked more like it was due to age rather than any kind of intentional neglect. The rooms also allow for even minor things like a phone vibrating on the night stand in the next room to be heard fairly clearly. I seriously thought it was my phone for a minute.
The staff was mostly friendly, and was able to accommodate most requests. For this stay I requested that I get a late check out, and that was granted with out question. However at 10:48 housekeeping made an attempt to enter the room with out any announcement. I even yelled at them that we were a late check out room, but that did not stop them from opening the door. Thankfully I had put the internal door lock over the door, and they were not able to come it. I chose to abandon the late checkout, and was packed and out the door by 11:10. I stopped check the room key to see if it was still functional. It was, and that means the front desk did seem to have my room set for a late check out.
I just can not figure out why housekeeping thought it was a good idea to try and enter an occupied room more than an hour before it's scheduled checkout time. I did mention this to the front desk when I turned my key in, and I was met with what felt like...
Read moreWe have stayed at this location often when traveling to the DFW area. In the past we were well pleased. We have a trained and certified service animal (dog) who travels with us and provides two specific tasks and has been a guest at this location multiple times without any issue. But not on the evening of December 18, 2024. Despite numerous past visits we were told we must provide proof of our service animal status. It was stated that new ownership was the reason for the policy change that went into effect the previous month. I evening clerk was verified we had had several stays over the past two years. Almost 60 minutes after arriving we were able (with a call to Choice Customer Service) to go to the room we had reserved days prior. We had never worried about the $100.00 deposit hold on our credit card. This is a common practice for some hotels ownership, however, the change of ownership and behavior of the front desk staff was in polar opposite of the previously highly rated staff and value given by us. So much so that we actually documented the room # 325 in pictures. The stained floormat, the burned sheet, the gross ottoman, the non-functioning remote and the large dead cockroach or water but laying on its dead back at the foot of the bed. They moved us to a...
