Moe's Cafe — Restaurant in Fort Worth

This is my family's 3rd visit to this restaurant and last night was one of the worst experiences we have ever had in an establishment. It was our first time coming to dinner and sadly that will be our last time. The only reason we will continue coming is because the food is good and the waitresses make us feel welcomed, but I do have an issue that needs to be addressed. The male host be he the manager or just a regular host needs an attitude adjustment. I don't know you but you seriously need a reassessment on hospitality and over all customer service. Not only were you rude but you made us feel you had a personal issue against my little family and I had to apologize to my children for your behavior. I don't know what your problem was but there's no excuse for the way you treated us. You threw menus at us and when it came time to order my friend started ordering for my children and you rushed and interrupted her before she could finish and went to me and didn't write what I ordered even having to ask me again what my order was after acting like we weren't ordering for my 3rd child and seeming annoyed. I honestly want to call out racism for your behavior towards my friend. The only reason we stayed was because the waitress out there apologized multiple times. You even had to come back and ask my husband and friend what their sides were for the steaks and ask me what I wanted again as if you didn't remember what I ordered and when I corrected you you laughed and patted me roughly on the back. I don't know you and you clearly were being sarcastic so don't ever but your hands on me or anyone else again when we clearly know you don't want us there. We tipped the waitress because we saw how hard she worked trying to keep us happy and she apologised so much that we honestly know she knew you weren't the kindest person that night. My children were well behaved compared to the other families children and we didn't deserve to be treated harshly. As someone who works in food service I know to keep personal issues or beliefs separate from my work life and the friend you were so rude to shes an AGM on her way to GM because I saw you glaring her way. So again keep your personal issues or beliefs out of your work or you won't have customers plain and simple. But I give my thanks to the waitress at night and the other waitresses during the day. Y'all know how to make some feel welcomed and you are most likely what restaurant...

One thing that never changes is that the service is very wonderful and prices are pretty good. The food itself however is a little all over the place.

Since they try to offer so much a lot of the things they have are very average and bland and they obviously get either frozen or from a can. This problem mostly(but not completely) being in relation to side dishes. I usually expect at least the daily "specials" at places like this to be pretty good and i think if they offered less of a selection they could focus on making things taste better, It really doesn't take much to "doctor up" pre-made items so they taste a little more homemade.

That said some dishes ARE pretty good. For example I'm a big fan of their chicken fried steak and most of the breakfast foods, in fact my fav dish is the CFS and eggs. Serving breakfast all day is a huge plus for me.

My only other major complaints are the rolls while seeming fresh(ish) and warm and huge are very heavy and almost flavorless(biscuits not being much better). I am a big lover of bread and I just can't bring myself to eat these. Similarly the white gravy is also very bland, im not usually one to add salt or pepper to my meals but find i have to whenever the is gravy...

We came here on a Sunday afternoon and I will say, I would not recommend coming here if you are young and Hispanic. Today was not a great experience here. When we first arrived we werent sure where to go to be seated. We then were TOLD to go to the table in the back, not even walked to our table like at a typical restaurant. We then were greeted by our server, Carol G, who proceeded to take our order and we were never attended after that. Another server brought out our food, Carol stopped by right then and asked if we needed anything, and left. We then noticed that a large family was seated in the room behind us and that our server was seated with them. She herself brought our all their food, drinks, and catered to them and the surrounding tables but not once stopped to ask us anything. She walked back and fourth a good ten times and didn’t even look at us. We wanted to order a cinnamon roll and couldn’t even do that because she was too busy attending the family behind us. I really was hoping this would be a good experience as we were looking for a new breakfast spot but we won’t be coming back here. Horrible service...
