We used to eat at TOA quite often but over the last couple of years we eat there less and less often. We do order TOA delivery every couple of months. Delivery is usually fast and the food comes hot. I haven’t eaten inside the restaurant in a long time so I cant really speak to current conditions. I saw that one review mentioned slippery floors. I’ve never seen that even in the restroom area. The wait staff is good and usually friendly. I think sometimes they don’t, or choose not to, speak English. The manager (??)/owner (??) used to come to each table and visit for a minute but he stopped doing that. Sad. We used to get TOA pickup orders occasionally but when I saw that they charged a pickup “convenience fee” I swore I’d never get pickup there again and I haven’t. It’s actually more convenient for them (no table taken, no cleanup, no wait staff needed, no delivery needed, etc). They should be the ones paying the convenience fee in way of a pickup discount! I don’t know if they still charge this fee or not. It’s not a lot, but I consider it to be price gouging. There seems to be adequate parking unless you come at a really high peak time and even then you can find parking, but a little away from the door. I think the atmosphere is usually good. It’s seldom noisy, without loud music or large, noisy parties dining. As to the food: there are some things that are constantly very good, but there are other things that are so hit or miss that it makes it hard to know what to order. I’ve ordered things that are wonderful, the vegetables cooked just right and the meat, chicken, beef or whatever, tender and flavorful. The next time I order it, it’s mushy, watery, and the meat tough and chewy. I’ve gotten moo goo gai pan several times and loved it but the last time it was completely watery and flavorless. I ended up throwing most of it away. Even soy sauce couldn’t fix it. I don’t eat sushi but other family members eat it and seem to enjoy it. My son said he was give it a 7-8 (10 point scale) and says it’s very consistent. I don’t know why there is such a swing in some of the other food’s quality. On a positive note, the potions seem huge to me and I usually end up with 2-3 meals from one dish. We’ll still order from TOA,...
Read moreUpdate: 8/14/22 Decided to try it again. Was seated by emily (who helped us more than out actual waiter) about 15 minutes passed before our waiter asked us what we wanted to drink. Food came out and our teriyaki was served without rice and our egg rolls didnt come first we had to ask for them because they didn't bring them . Not once did our waiter ask us if we wanted a refill or if everything was good. She kept passing us but never stopped. When we were done eating we had to stop her in order to get our bill. That's when she asked if we needed a refill... Service was great when the original owner was there. It's gone downhill. ................................
I used to love TOA since the original owner doesn't visit any more the service has gone down. We were seated quickly as well as our order was taken quickly. However, our food took longer to come out other people (who came in after us) were served before us. Our server not even once asked if we needed refills. She also never brought our food to us. Prices have also gone up( I know inflation is up) however we used to pay $40 and today we paid about $65. Might come back, but...
Read moreVisited Taste of Asia for a late lunch. The lady working when we first walked in greeted us promptly, smiled and sat us in a booth. I only had the chicken dumpling soup, which I did not like. The noodle was good but the filling inside had hard pieces of stuff in it. I brought my daughter home the wonton and miso soup which she did not like either. My husband ordered the chicken noodle soup which he said; "was no big deal". The restaurant itself was dirty, drink station was gross, in desperate need of cleaning. The older man that served us was not hospitable at all. My husband had a question about the menu and he was very abrupt with with my husband, he replied no and offered no help or suggestions, he was not interested in assisting my husband any further. I also found it very unusual to have him sitting at one of the tables behind us tearing cilantro and pea pods apart. Food prep is suppose to be done in the kitchen not in the middle of the dining area where customers are sitting. I found this to be very unsanitary and unprofessional. I will not...
