Thai Barn is consistently great every single time! I typically get pad Thai with chicken or beef, medium spice level, with the vinegar/chili sauce on the side. It’s honestly made so perfectly every time. It’s not too sweet and lacking flavor like some places; the flavor is the perfect amount of spice, sour and sweet, also not too dry and not too wet. I’ve tried so many times to make pad Thai at home using tamarind paste (not the packaged premade sauces) and it just never tastes the same. So I keep coming back here. The protein is never overcooked and too dry like some other places, too. The owners are always so kind and welcoming, and I love supporting their small business.
Aside from getting pad Thai, I’ve also had their pad see ew, duck larb, Lao sausage, fried rice, crispy pork, all of the curries, and I can’t remember what else. I can’t say a single bad thing about any of the dishes because I loved all of them. When it’s just me, I usually just place a pickup order, however, I’ve brought my whole family in before (party of 7) and the male owner in the glasses is always so kind and attentive. He refilled our waters, made sure we had everything we needed in a timely manner, and never had us waiting. The food even came out super fast for a weekday evening at regular dinner time.
I would say it’s one of the best Thai/lao places in Fort Worth when it comes to quality. If I weren’t moving out of state, I would continue to be a regular here. You can’t go wrong at Thai Barn, and if I could give them 10 stars, I would. I’ll be back whenever I...
Read moreThis place used to be one of our favorite Thai restaurants in town. We literally ate here so much that my son would refuse! Anyway unfortunately our last two visits were nothing like we’ve experienced before. Today I ordered my usual with spice level 3. This is usually just the right amount of spice. Not today, it was so spicy my lips tingle and chest burned. I tried to eat it but it was way to spicy. And this is coming from a lover of Indian, Jamaican, and Thai food! It was closer to a 4/5. I went back to have it remade, upon which I was instructed to order a level of 1 or 2. I have the same dish from this restaurant more times than I can count, enough to know the difference… well they did agree to remake my food, however they also decided to remove the spice and gave me what taste like salt water! This time we wont be returning. Moral of the review… check your food and if its not correct you’re better...
