The atmosphere was nice. Very upscale aesthetic. But the vibe and people are laid back. I expected a little more formal based off menu and appearance. I went with a group of friends for drinks during happy hour. The service was not that good as the server had a lot of people she knew coming in so often talked and played with the dogs at other tables so if took longer than expected to put in different orders. We often had to call out throughout the restaurant to get her attention. Although the drinks were good, they were not what we ordered. The small plates on the happy hour menu were overpriced including the $15 charcuterie board. The bottomless popcorn was really good though. The truffle salt is a nice touch. You have to pay to park so would have been nice for validation when spending over a certain amount. I would considered visiting again since I have friends in the area that enjoy going, but for my first time here it didn’t meet my expectations.

We had a great afternoon at The Magnolia Wine Bar yesterday. The staff greeted us and asked what type of wine we were thinking about. We gave them a style and they came back with three options of things that were newer to their list and appropriate for the warm day since we were seated in their patio with our dog. We selected a delicious Albariño that fit the day perfectly. We like that they keep us well-supplied with water in an ice bucket (the ice bucket is a special request that they will gladly fulfill). Our dog loves the staff and they love him. The newly-renovated patio makes sipping on wine in the warmer months especially nice. They now serve liquor in addition to wine and beer for those not feeling vinous. The building, the patio, the staff, and the wine make Magnolia one of our favorite places.

Walking in ambiance is inviting.....you seat yourself wherever you like. Nice bright and open. A gentleman seemingly knowledgeable about Wine starts spatting off things about their feature wine, not asking me my preference or what I like to give me a solid recommendation was my number one sign I may not be in the right place. I try the feature wine, it's decent however they treat my $15 pour like gold.. so a fly made its way in my glass they're everywhere here, it happens it's a wine bar I get it. However if you offer to replace it, I expect to get back what I had prior to my repour. Which I was appreciative for but again the barista portraying like it's kinda a deal when it clearly wasn't. So unnecessary in my opinion. Kinda embarrassing I Won't be back! Better Wine bars elsewhere....

I honestly don't know how I feel about this place. I normally drive out to addison to hang out at a cozy wine bar that I know will make me feel welcomed everytime. As soon as I walked through the door I didn't notice many ppl inside but I'm not a big fan of crowds so I had no problem with that. As I sat down at the bar I was somewhat greeted by I believe her name was Wendy.....she didn't tell me but I read her nametag as well as a guy named Frank. As I set there looking at the menu Frank informed me that there were cheaper drinks inside the menu. That was awkward, so after asking for a specific wine he informed me he did not have so I just order from the book. So for the next hour I was there, there wasn't much said to me other than every 20min do I want another.....now after sitting there and watching the bartender strike up a conversation with the 2 guys next to that were clearly having a conversation with each I have yet to understand If my presence wasn't welcomed or if there was some type of stereotyping happening. After a female sat on my left then moments later male sat on my right(yes caucasians) I noticed that Frank(nametag) did not hesitate to strike up a conversation with either of the 2, so as I sat in the middle wondering should I just leave or sit and watch the game on t.v......after a few moments of not having anything else inside my glass.....I opted to pay my tab and find a different...

We went to celebrate a friend’s birthday and the vibes weren’t quite what we were expecting. We were seated at our table and because of the time of day and all the windows, the sun was right in our eyes and made it hard to see each other. The windows have no blinds either so be prepared to be blasted by the full power of the sunset depending on where you’re seated. Once seated, we asked the waitress for a couple minutes to look over the menu since we had never been and were literally just sat. She then proceeded to walk off and left us waiting nearly 20 minutes while she chatted with her coworkers. It took one of our table members walking over to her to get her to come take our order. The drinks were fine, but the charcuterie board was very underwhelming. The board didn’t feel like it was worth the $30 we paid, but The popcorn was pretty good. Because of door to the patio being left open, there were flies everywhere and we had to constantly bat them away. The most frustrating part was that the waitress seemed like she couldn’t be bothered to help us, and would see us flagging her down and then turn around, ignore us, and keep talking with her coworkers. The workers seem to favor chatting over their job. It very much felt like they made assumptions about our small group from the moment we walked in, and in the future we will be looking for more friendly and welcoming...

Edit 2023 - Held off on a review for a negative review for years out of respect for many previous years of great experiences, but sadly, just can't wait any longer. The service and management here is just plain poor. No matter whether they have 3 staff and no one there or 2-4 staff with a packed house. Don't get me wrong - they are very nice, knowledgeable, and courteous. Patio and comfy seats are top notch. But… since the last ownership change I have to wait 25-30 minutes for anyone to come to my table: whether that's the first visit to the table or any visit thereafter. There have been times (many, many times) when I would have ordered two or four $90+ bottles of wine but our server never comes, so it ends up being one bottle or just a glass. The manager is always just hanging out - head down in a computer - and doesn't seem to care when there are issues. And God forbid the owner is there (which he is often). The staff fawns over him instead of looking after paying customers. And hey, it's your business so do what you want good sir, but apparently you like leaving money on the table. I really want to come here more, but please please please take better care of your customers.

Original 2021- Generally just good all around service, wine, and prices. We live nearby and visit...
