With high hopes since this dennys was a suggestion from 76 gas attendants on duty who were friendly. My travel partner as well as myself quickly located the destination thru google maps. We thought it was a perfect place to sit relax have coffee and a hot meal at a affordable price just like dennys in other locations/states experienced in the past. Boy was that a misconception the hostess was extremely rude and unwelcoming. Feeling of being out of place as well as. Discriminated against we were told to sit wherever. Menus but no drink offer till order was finally taken at least 15 mins after seating ourselves. It seemed as though we climbed out of a ufo before entering dennys with the way people stared at us. A cranky over worked prejudice waitress over age 60. Was not very comforting. There was obviously complications in communication between us and the representative of the diner. I think the man 1 booth over would of taken our order easier than waitress however he was full of air him self no respect fobher guest with appetites was present during his passing gas session. Food was ok once it finally arrived. I dont think we could of eaten any faster to hurry and exit this horrible experience at one of our most favorable places to eat. After waiting with empty plates still in front of us we didnt receive our check like normally done. We walked over to registers where luckly a fresh much younger as well as friendlier hostess was present. She asked the overworked waitress which ticket we were and was able to complete our first and last meal ever taken place at this hill billie hick location in yuma az off the fortuna frontage rd... Not recommended to any decent human with skin...
Read moreEarlier this week, my husband and I came in. I had a grand slam which would have been delicious had we not been witness to the personal and inappropriate conversations just feet away from us. I don't know who the girl is, (they mentioned her name several times but I'm not going to put it here, the girl deserves some privacy, which she didn't get from the employees of Denny's) but apparently she was working at Denny's and recently got fired for whatever reason. What sounded to me like an employer calling for a reference, (I only heard 1 side) the manager proceeded to tell the person on the phone that she liked the girl but (I won't specify to much here because it's personal) she said some very disparaging remarks about the girl that got fired, none of which was about job title, duties, or performance. (As a matter of fact, her name has been mentioned in the reviews, 5 ⭐) I was very disturbed by what came after. The workers then started talking about this girl, loud, and obnoxious, did they forget they had customers??? We paid it bill and left. Disgusted at the behavior of these women who acted like they were still in high school, I struggled with what I seen and heard that day and what I should/could do, if anything. Grow up ladies. You were in no way professional that day. Be happy I'm not your boss because I would have fired the manager, the assistant manager and the 2 waitresses that ran their mouths about an former employee who wasn't even there to defend herself. We won't be back. Ever seen "waiter"? These are thtis...
Read moreWhen I go to a chain restaurant I don't have high expectations. I simply want a clean table, seat, bathroom and reasonably priced food that will fill me up. That said, this trip to this particular Denny's didn't meet many of those. The table and seat were dirty and $27 later I was stopping for food because I left hungry. My husband was more than satisfied with his grand slam and left a lot behind. I ordered the Dr. Praeger's veggie burger and asked for a lettuce wrap, tomato, onion, pickle and avocado. I apologize for forgetting to take a picture, it would have saved some writing 🤔 This 'burger' came out in several pieces on A leaf of lettuce with 1 very thin slice of tomato, a few single rings of onion,4 pickle rounds and 4 slim slices of avocado. My side of spicey french fries was less than a handful. The flavor was fine but for the price, they could have scared up some lettuce and tomatoes and enough potatoes to make a serving. I decided since I was still hungry to order a side of zucchini to finish it off. That didn't help much either. I did take a picture of that though. The bottom line is that I will eat at Denny's and continue to look for healthier alternatives but my hope is that these chains will get on board with providing real food...
