If I could give negative stars I would....
I want to start off by saying that I order from them almost every month. This was my last order. The delivery driver knows me well. I ordered a large pizza, a small sausage calzone, and a caeser salad. The young girl on the phone wrote down 8in sausage without writing calzone so I was told. A small 8in individual sausage pizza was delivered in its place.
The store told me everything was handwritten and she wrote 8in sausage without writing calzone and that she would 'see' what she could do. She came back to the phone and notified me that they would be nice enough to give me a calzone and if I wanted to pick it up or have it delivered. Obviously I wasn't going to drive because I didn't make the mistake. After an hour and 10 minutes I called asking why it hadn't been delivered. I wanted to wait on eating the large pizza because someone else was eating the calzone and I felt rude. The store said the only thing they would do is credit the cost of the calzone but nothing towards to the rest of order that was ruined. In fact, even the girl on the phone got rude and said the rest was delivered OK. She did not feel bad or act sympathetic that my order was ruined, despite the fact that my makeup calzone was still not delivered after over an hour.
The girl I was talking to didn't know the name of the manager on duty. She first said Tinsley and said she didn't know any last names at the store. I asked to speak to Tinsley and a Dylan picked up; another manager. He said Tinsley wasn't working so apparently this girl didn't even know who her manager was.
Dylan Demsie (spelling?) was actually genuine, the first nice one out of my whole experience, however he still said there's nothing else he could do for the rest of the meal. When the driver finally delivered my corrected order calzone it was 1 hour and 25 minutes from my call time. He said it had been sitting there at the store for a very long time and apologized. He offered to take it back, he's really a nice guy. It was ICE COLD and looked like crap. They knew in the store that my calzone had been sitting there for an hour and still sent out a cold disgusting calzone to make up for messing up my order. This is absolutely the last time I'll ever order from them and by far the worst experience I've had at any restaurant.
This isn't the fault of the driver or of Dylan. This is the fault of the girl taking the order, bad training to not write calzone, and more importantly the fault of the policy of the OWNERS of the pizza shop to not make things right for the customers. This store is poorly owned and run. I feel bad for the driver and for Dylan the manager. To the owners.... Take some classes to learn to run a business better and to take care of your customers.
There are other places.... I suggest you...
Read moreIt was ok. I was pretty excited for it and was pretty let down in the end... I called in my order ahead of time, was told it would take 20 minutes or so, and showed up 15 minutes later to pay and wait (so I was ready for my pizza as soon as it was done). My grandparents were waiting at home for our food.
I arrived and paid, and sat down to wait, and proceeded to wait almost 30 minutes. Waiting for a longer time than expected honestly didnât bother me much - Iâve worked in customer service and they seemed understaffed - which I can absolutely understand.
BUT. After leaving the restaurant and driving (less than 5 minutes) to my grandparents house, I opened all the food only to find that the pizza wasnât even lukewarm. It was so cold we had to microwave it, resulting in a pretty terrible pizza. It was overly rubbery and overly crispy in all the wrong places. Really not worth anything I spent on it.
I figured âok, maybe they ran out of lasagna, had to cook more, and my pizza was ready too early and they just waited for the lasagna to be ready and thatâs why my pizza got coldâ but nope. The lasagna was just a bit warmer than the pizza, same with the garlic bread that comes with the lasagna. We had to microwave everything.
If Iâd waited a long time at the restaurant for piping hot, fresh food, I wouldnât have cared. But why was I sitting there for 20-30 minutes while my food somehow had time to get cold?
Itâs a shame because the food honestly seems pretty good. The ingredients on the pizza seem fresh and if this pizza had been hot it probably wouldâve been a hit with me and my grandparents. Instead it was like eating reheated cardboard.
The employees were very pleasant and friendly, and like I say they seemed understaffed which I can understand. The decor of the restaurant is very cool and Iâm sure dining in is a pleasant experience. We were just glad to have ordered a few desserts which made the meal enjoyable.
Overall it was alright, but totally ridiculous for me to wait as long as I did and for my food to be cold after a less-than 5 minute drive home. Just beware that the food seems great and high quality, but you might spend $15-$20 on...
Read moreThis review is for the Foothills location. We have never eaten at the downtown site, reviews suggest it's better. We have ordered at least a dozen times, and enough to know that this place isn't going to taste any better. Overall the food here is bread, dough, and pasta with smaller amounts of other food. So you do fill up, but its mostly dough, and you pay a premium for all this dough. The salads are hit and miss, sometimes pretty good, other times not so much. The pizza is of course doughy, but their sauce is good. Other than that the pizzas are skimpy on toppings and unfortunately the end result is that they all taste the same. The chicken parmesan is very much what I remember as a kid in school cafeteria. Frozen breaded patty with some kind of chicken type meat. The lasania is okay. The other pasta is also just okay, nothing special, but then its really hard to screw up pasta. Their cheeses are all tasteless. All their ingredients I suspect are restaurant supply stuff out of a freezer, a vat, a bottle, or a can. I don't think anything they prepare is made from fresh ingredients. MSG warning: be prepared to drink copious amount of water afterwards. The torpedo sandwich is suppose to be an Italian meat sub, but I couldn't describe what the meat was. I know what Sicilian and Genoa Salami taste like and what other Italian deli hams are, there was none of that in this sandwich. Best I could tell it was some kind of mystery lunch meat that most of us would never buy. The calzones are huge with lots of cheese stuffed inside. However, the thing is a big dough loaf and the cheese has very little taste. Its not ricotta, and likely a cheap mozzarella. The food overall at this location is simply unremarkable to bad. Italian spices are non existent; olive oil, nil; garlic, hardly a taste. I gave an extra star because the people here are very nice and the prices are reasonable. For college and high school students this is a step up from Dominos and pizza hut. Da Boyz will fill your gut for a couple of days. Older folks will find it hard to digest. Bottom line: you get a lot for the money, but its mostly dough and...
